Well, um, not quite. I was a big Froch fan, but he lost two, and I was resigned to him losing to Taylor before that hail-mary in the 12th. Plus he eeked out that disputed win against Dirrell. If the fight was in the US with US judges, Dirrell would have got that.

Don't forget, Ward didn't just beat him, he made Froch look pedestrian. Froch was a warrior, hit the road, and didn't duck anyone in his weight class. His best showings (imo) remain Pascal and Abraham. He totally schooled Abraham. And of course Bute.

I rate them equally - GGG hasn't had the same depth in his weight class as Froch had, but equally, he's knocked everyone out vs Froch losing a couple and eeking out a couple of others.

This would not be much a Search and Destroy with jr. Exiting around round 6 or 7 the better flight would be Alvarez but that would be a long time coming... I still think two years away...

JCC Jr is still a big draw because of his papa's name, so there's money in it. The styles would also mesh very well as it would be a slug fest. We know JCC Jr can't take it at 175, but he's been pretty durable at 168 - the fight would be fan friendly for however long it lasted.

Pretty sure a foray into 168 would be JCC or Ramirez - they also gets the Mexican audience involved which helps build up the hoped-for eventual showdown with Canelo.

Can't see any of the Dirrell's happening. Neither brings much following to the table and can't see negotiations going any differently than the Jacobs one. Not sure HBO would be interested.
GGG has wanted Chavez Jr. for a long time. He even said he wouldn't demand a catch-weight for Chavez Jr. (although he wanted one for Ward). Able knows that this is a big-money fight, and that's what he wants. I just laugh because if Canelo was to say "we want Chavez Jr." he would be crucified!

The only belt which doesn't allow you to hold titles in different weight classes would be wbo which ggg does not have so he will not be stripped of any titles and this fight was crap back when first was discussed before and now is a even bigger joke but you triple gullibles love anything that involves the can crusher

It's clear from what Abel says here that that GGG is not going to vacate, whatever happens. Do you think the same thing applies to Jacobs?

Canelo would dare to be great by moving up to yet another division ... SMW this time! I don't think Chavez could make 161 doe.
