also the same people who constantly disparage "power punchers" were the ones hyping up julian williams because he had the reputation as a power puncher(against crap opposition) if only you guys had listened to yourselves!

Those fights were from the age of 15 through to 21. That was a very green Canelo (at top level) against a prime Trout.

Charlo is 26 and Trout was faded.

Those fight took place at very different points in all of their careers.

What we need to stop doing is advocating for marinating fights. Charlo is 26 years old, this is the time for the best matchups. These guys should be fighting at least 3 top fighters a years. No tuneups and no gimmes.

I know you'll like to think you're some type of wise old man but you're not. You're a boxing fan so stick to cheering the fighter you like and let other hype the fighters they want. That's the way the sport works.
This. Why the hell should people not hype guys up? Because Larry doesn't like it?

We are boxing fans, we are SUPPOSED to hype our young fighters. Fighters don't come out of the gate proven, we are SUPPOSED to be excited by their potential. If anything, we should hype our fighters more, especially in America, where the coverage American fighters get is pathetic.

What an absolutely bizarre idea for a thread.

I guess I just can't help it. If I see a young fighter I think is great and his name comes up in a thread I will say I think he is great. I might be wrong but that's not so terrible. I thought Canelo was something special from day one. My latest favorite is Spence. I know he hasn't done anything great yet but from what I have seen of him I believe he soon will. Another new comer I am very impressed with is Anthony Joshua.

I was so so with Charlo. After the Williams fight I have a lot of respect for him and under the tutorage of his trainer he will continue to strive.

Williams is a good fighter that insisted on this match up and Charlo went for it. Don't know how two young prime undefeated fighters fight each other and the loser gets dismissed so easily

5'7 Canelo won't go near Charlo.

                      C'mon now.

When Andrade had a TITLE,Canelo didn't go near him either.

He won't go near Charlo either.
