To be fair, while not huge wins the Algieri and Bundu demolitions were legit as hell. That's how a guy who is the truth beats fighters like that. But yeah, he does still need to prove it against the top 10.

Yet Brook has done far more than Spence and crucially has proven himself more by fighting and beating higher caliber opposition than Spence has at this point. What I said stands, right now Spence is nothing but hype. He needs to justify his hype by beating top fighters in division and in brutal fashion.

If the sport is to grow, we should actually hype fighters more. If someone loses or gets "exposed", so be it.

But J-Rock had zero hype besides from a literal handful of boxing nerds on twitter or NSB. In the real world, nobody has ever heard of J-Rock.

Spence is also really young,still on his way fighting to the top..I expect big things this yr tbh..At least one big step up..

It's hard to make fights happen when fighters are over-hyped. Charlo, for instance, took a lot of convincing to take the J-Rock fight. He thought he was worth millions of dollars. But since Wiliiams wasn't singing the same tune, it would be embarrassing for Jermall to drag the fight to something like what Jacobs is doing in the Gennady fight. So...

I made that mistake with Broner, Charlo beat J-Rock woh has literally beaten no one..so why was J-Rock hyped so much? i dont get it, and Charlo didnt look like some great elite fighter in the fight either. I think we as boxing fans get a little to damn excited after fights. Sure at 26 this is a fight he had to win and a i applaud him for it and will say he is on the right path. But is he fights Canelo next i see it being a brutal night for him. There are levels in this sport and Canelo is an Elite well crafted fighter and Charlo seems to be a couple levels below. I wish the young man much success but lets stop hyping these damn kids up so fast and let them grow as fighters
