What the f**k happened to Gamboa?

It's been what, 2 and a half years since he got wrecked by Crawford? I barely ever even hear about him anymore unless people are discussing Crawford and the Gamboa fight is brought up.

Hell I had to go to boxrec to see if he had even fought since. 2 fights since -- a TKO over Joel Montes De Oca, a two star fighter (boxrec rates each fighter from a one star to a five...for reference Rod Salka is considered a 3 star), and then a UD over a one star fighter (lol) in Hylon Williams Jr.

Okay so he got his ass whooped by a P4P fighter in Crawford...no shame in that. So why has he fell off the face of the earth? Why isn't he still being mentioned when it comes to relevant match ups?

Gamboa is probably the biggest waste of talent from this generation.

I really miss seeing him fight, he was great to watch a few years ago.

Waste of talent who ran out on his contractual obligations against Rios, left TR a professional promotion outfit for one of those hip hop idiots and ended up destroying a promising career.

Promotional problems, 50 Cent went bankrupt or something like that and then Gamboa was suing him but then they reconciled and Gamboa fired his manager but then Gamboa and 50 seperated again, no idea what's exactly going on with Gamboa as of right now. He was trying to fight Pedraza or the winner of Salido vs Vargas but that was a draw, Salido will probably fight Lomachenko and Pedraza is fighting Davis, so I don't really know who he can/will fight. Sad when fighters with that type of talent get their careers ruined by bad management and bad decisions outside of the ring.

Guzman was another talented fighter who wasted his potential.

Gamboa was more exciting to watch though, he had more potential to be a bigger star. Guzman was very talented, but he wasn't wrecking guys like Gamboa was. He was one of the fastest fighters I've ever seen.
