Canelo fought Cotto in Nov 2015, and he promised to fight GGG next if he won. He did win, but instead of fighting GGG next, Canelo asked for a voluntary defence. Then after he won his voluntary defence he relinquished the title and sent GGG an offer for a fight in Sept 2017.

Now that's what I call dragging it out.
