GGG is simply not a good match-up for Canelo.

GGG will get frozen stiff with blistering combinations.

Too slow, throws too wide and leaves himself too open.

Canelo is the vastly more skilled inside fighter with the far better defense, punch selection and counterpunching.

There should be an over\under for the amount of uppercuts he'll nail GGG with.

I think Canelo wins then everyone backtracks and says he waited for GGG to get old.

If Canelo's own team were as confident as you guys, the fight would have happened last Sept.

Oscar and Reynoso know the score. Canelo's only hope of beating GGG is to do what he's doing now ... starve himself back down to 154 and wait for Golovkin to slide over the hill.

I don't think Canelo will be able to handle the pressure, pace and power of GGG. GGG is going to impose his will on Canelo and force Canelo to fight on his back-foot.

I really want this fight to happen so I can bump this thread after GGG has destroyed Canelo

I think Canelo stands a good chance, but the problem with him as a fighter is that while he is really good at what he does that is really all he does. I think Golovkin's style is pretty good for Canelo because Golovkin is going to attack, especially with all the hoops Canelo will have made him jump through by the time the fight goes down.

Canelo is a really good boxer so a guy that attacks him is what he wants, when he has to really create against someone that is when he runs into problems. If Golovkin can fight that way I don't think he will go that route until it is likely too late.

The problem for Canelo comes in is if his boxing isn't quite good enough, he has nothing else to really turn to so if Golovkin can do that he will almost surely win. It is why I slightly favor Golovkin, while I think Canelo is a better technical boxer, I think Golovkin is the guy that will try different things and has some abilities in different areas.

Canelo will be backpedaling from round 1 and taking big shot after big shot, he'll be exhausted after only a couple of rounds. GGG will just walk Canelo down break him down both mentally and physically in a very one-sided fight and stop Canelo in brutal fashion. Canelo doesn't really have much of a shot.

If they ever make this fight happen next year GGG will put on a show and look like a freaking beast.
good analysis. I give canelo a zero percent chance of winning, no chance at all. Think golovkin soundly outboxes him, think it would probably go the distance. The difference is ring generalship and footwork is huge, people mistake canelo for some really skillful boxer cause he lets some flashy combos go. His 'boxing' skills are dog****, lara gave him fits, trout gave him problems, mayweather made him look like an amateur, the ghost of miguel cotto gave him some hard rounds too lol. As desperate as people are to find someone to beat golovkin, canelo isnt that guy

The other problem is that in order to beat ggg you need to have quick feet. Canelo has cement feet and a very poor jab. GGG would run circles around him.

The reason is because mayweather dominated canelo so if ggg does it in a better fashion it would make their prophet's win not nearly as impressive. Hence why everybody who loves floyd wants ggg to lose this fight.

It would entirely depend on Alvarez's ability to stop Golovkin with his power. If he can't buzz Golovkin, the pace will be too much, he'll eat too many shots, he'll get worn down, and he'll lose.

Alvarez will definitely be able to land his shots and make Golovkin look foolish. He won't be able to take breaks and get away with it unless he has Golovkin worried about what's coming back.

they sparred each other, one is desperate for the fight to happen, one isnt, two observers said that with sparring gloves and headgear golovkin wobbled canelo twice and had to take his foot off the gas. in larrys mind that equals - canelo is going to dominate golovkin!!!!

yep, the two key things which will lose him the fight. Golovkin will just sit behind that jab all day long, would fight nothing like he did against brook, would be like the lemiuex fight.
