Let it go to purse bid.

I wonder what ggg wool do if he has to fight off hbo. Vacate, or will hbo and k2 get some money together to have it air on their network

The WBA is absolutely irelavent here. I could see them negotiating even past the purse bid like what what happened for Abraham vs Ramirez. WBA's deadlines mean squat even if they actually enforced them. Golovkin/K2 has wasted time negotiating with Jacobs because they wanted to waste time with Jacobs, not because of anything to with Jacobs being a mandatory for the WBA. They could have enforced a purse bid long ago, if they wanted it. That's what so mind boggling about this. GGG could have fought 3 times this year, and still have fought Jacobs exactly at the same time they're planning on now. I don't know what K2 is thinking. Have they already abandoned their stragedy of keeping GGG active? If the Canelo fight happens, I could see GGG fighting only twice again this year.

This is BS, I see Jacobs vacating because he gets offered peanuts. F**k boxing sometimes. This fight is awesome and Jacobs would easily be GGG's biggest test. I get the feeling Golovkin's team won't mind Jacobs vacating either.

They want Jacobs scalp, and they'll never have him this cornered. Jacobs stands to lose his regular belt if he passes, and a lot of fan respect. That's leverage they won't have again

                Some of ya buggin.

I dont see how some of you guys blame GGG side. Jacobs played himself when he started demanding a 60-40 split rather than the 75-25 split its supposed to be. Jacobs only drew 8,000 fans to the Barclays center for that "Battle of Brooklyn" fight with Peter Quillin. And this is in their HOMETOWN!!! Ratings for that fight were really low too. So just exactly what negotiating leverage does Jacobs have? Does he wanna prove himself against the best or not?

They need to cut Jacobs loose asap and get a new mandatory to step up who will be willing to make the fight happen. Lara would be a great substitute but I don't think that will happen for various reasons.
Daniel Jacobs as their champion would give the WBA NYC and America's top middleweight; a fighter all of 29 years of age, just getting to his physical peak.

Golovkin with only the WBC and IBF belts around his waist becomes an even lesser option for potential WBO champion Saul Alvarez, while also putting his status in NYC in flux (with Ney York being the media capital of the world, everyone and their mother is going to know that Golovkin walked away from the biggest fight of his career).
