It just goes to show that not all promoters but their best foot forth to promote their fighter and now how to promote worth a damn.
Because the big boxing promotes aren't really promoters. They rely on handouts from the networks. I took my kids to a local wrestling show last weekend. I'm not from the area I'm currently at so I'm thinking maybe 50 ppl will be here for the show. I get there and the place was packed. At least 300 ppl packed in a UAW hall. The people there knew all the wrestlers names. Craziest thing I've ever been to. Also caught a local boxing show here. Place was packed. I heard a lot of radio ads for the show and when I called the number to get tickets I talked directly to the promoter. These small shows promote the traditional way.

$14 million in revenue is pretty damn good, $6 or 7 million for the fighters, and the rest to everyone else. Can't complain about that, the rematch will be awesome. Solid.

Half the PPV revenue goes to the cable companies and 7.5-10% goes to HBO

In New York she could've gotten the foreign judges. This lady thinks she she's the smartest person in the room and it's always backfiring.

            1. Cable and dish companies get approximately 50% of PPV revenue. HBO gets another 10%.

            2. NYC has extremely high taxes on the fighter's purse. That has to be considered.

Half the ppv rev goes to the cable company, so only a little over $5mill for a estimate of $8.5mill. However fighting in Vegas, you get a site fee (from MGM in this case). Not sure if MGM took any cut from the gate, probably not. So they might've atleast broke even which helps the case for making a rematch.

Fighting in NY, they would've lost a ton of money in taxes and having to rent out MSG will cost you another couple hundred thousand. So fighting in NY would've been dumb.

Another ****** thing is they sometimes count comps or discounted tickets at full price in the gate revenue.
