$70 HD (let's be real ain't nobody got time for standard def these days) for a 3 to 4 hour card, where most of the buyers are only interested in the main event.
Why is it set in stone that the vast majority of these PPVs have to be $70 in the states? If these things were let's say, $40, wouldn't that be a lot more inviting? Well I guess the answer to that is obvious. But a $70 price tag is pretty intimidating for a lot of folks, especially when they're on the fence about it. I've talked to plenty of boxing fans -- true actual boxing fans, that are passing more and more on these PPVs because the cards and main events just don't justify that type of cost for sitting in your living room to watch boxing for 3 or 4 hours.
Wouldn't it be possible that cheaper PPV Price tags would actually be more beneficial in the long run for everybody involved? Wouldn't more people buy these cards? Leading to more money (not to mention exposure) for the promoters and the networks?
