for fkks sake! Ward never needed this fight to begin with. He went up to fight the premiere puncher...what was he going to do, make weight and go down from there and fight the likes of Canelo? You can't just come in at any weight, you pick a road! Look what happened to Roy Jones trying to do that shizzle!

Golovakin could have campaigned really heavy by ccoming up and challenging Ward beccause he has not fought the guys that Ward has fought, but Ward never had a need to go down and fight Golovakin....

This is what I hate about the Ward hating brigade: Ward accomodates and beats the best pound for pound guy (too many) at the time and what do they say? "ahhh Dawson was drained" so what would people say when he rocks G around the ring, destroying his body, etc? "ahh Ward was picking on a smaller fighter, why didn't he fight Kovolev?"

Ward can't win folks. There is no way Golovakin beats Ward. Ward is bigger, stronger and all wrong for a middle weight. Ward did what he should and even gave the man a chance to come up to a catch weight end of story.

Same old, same old recycled crap. Anyone still really cares about this subject? If I were these media people I would ask Ward to look directly at my face and I'll ask him whether he could still really make 168. GGG was busy campaigning at 160 when the offer was made. What do you expect him to do at that time? Are people no longer using common sense or what?

It's been the same for every great fighter throughout history, they did it with Floyd, SRL, even question Hagler, etc, etc....it won't ever stop. I just bask in the fact that Ward b1tched golovkin...that will ALWAYS be fact.

No way! Ward is at 175 and ggg is too small. That ship has sailed time to get over it

If Ward came back at 168 then I would agree with you. But since he didn't then came out and said he can no longer make 168 it kinda makes you pointless.

I don't get how one could possibly believe golovkin would be able to have much of any success over Ward...especially someone that has watched it for 4 decades..that's amazing to me. I learned a long time ago that you can't pick fights with your heart....it rarely works out. I think you feeling like golovkin would be the victor is more wishful thinking.
Sorry Metho, it's just my opinion which really isn't that important just as yours or anyone else who doesn't agree. It's okay to have an opinion. You may be right but there is a chance you might be wrong. Don't you think? It's just dialogue and don't be so "amazed" by it. Just like you I have my preferences in boxing styles and Golovkin happens to have what it takes. Just my opinion.

Or a guy like Wade, Monroe Jr etc. These guys are on a whole nother level. You're going off of appearance instead of competition. That uppercut Brook landed would have GGG flat on his back if Kovalev landed it. Monroe Jr had success inside against GGG. Ward would bully him on the inside. So I'm asking. What fight of GGG are you basing this off of?
Hi Motor. Not basing it on one particular fight. Basing it on boxing style. I was taking about Ward not Kovalev. You might be right about Kovalev against GGG. What I said was I don't think Ward would want to mix it up with Golovkin. I'm basing it on what I saw from Ward against a power puncher like Kovalev. Even though Ward got the decision Kovalev's power bothered him. Would love to see Golovkin in there with Ward but I guess we'll never know since that contest is highly unlikely. Either way I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Ward would beat Golovkin. Just my opinion.

Yep, opinions are fine...obviously we differ here, but I've seen nothing from golovkin that tells me he could win. Ward is better on the inside, outside and if kell brook could beat him up, he'd be in for a long night vs Ward.

Well will have to just disagree on that...if golovkin wanted the fight, then it would've happened, also...why send an offer over @168 if you're Roc Nation? That makes no sense.

Size does matters in boxing. That's why Mayweather schooled Pacquiao. Made him looked like an amateur in their fight.

Ward would beat Golovkin because he is 2 weight classes above him.
