The submissions I'm not too fond of but the UFC purest's love the science behind the boring submissions the same way boxing fans love the boring pitty pat fast jabs/straight rights.

I like boxing cause its straight to the point with just punches aloud and I love the UFC cause they are just ****ers that get the job done.

hey, rookie if a jab is used properly with knowlege...you can cause serious damage with the jab and at the same time be used as a defence from your opponet....i recommend you watching some SONNY LISTON fights

and if the jab/right hand is thrown properly can be dangerous as hell, arugello had a great 1/2... from fights i've seen of his and vargas used to have a fierce 1/2 combo

your pointing out the jab and right hand....those if applided with knowledge and practice can be so damn dangerous in a pro fight or a street fight, now, if you then add range to those punchs you are a bonified killed, add movement/reflexs to side aside left or right and you are a natural born kill with the simple old boxing 1-2 combo

ain't nothing borring of the 1-2 punch when a skilled pugilst is using this combo

Still they would slam and tackle, fight dirty, and attack when they are most vulnerable, on their back. You have a good point though, most of the primal strength was in the arms.

Bottomline is this. No way UFC is going to take over and take out boxing. Boxing is huge and highly recognized all over the world. It's been here for centuries and it is respected throughout, part reason why it is in the Olympics.

UFC is nothing but WWE with more damage. You may have the impression that UFC is getting popular to the casual fans, but that's only because WWE fans are also intrigued with UFC because IT IS WRESTLING TOO.

UFC will not be respected as a sport IMO. It's just a show. People won't care who wins or have favorites that they will follow their carreer. People just want to see people get their face busted open. UFC is perfect for that.

Skill? u learn this stuff on the street, U need no disapline or training. ITs bascially a street fight/ wrestling match. Why do u think street fighters have to be trained to become boxers? because it takes tons of skill. Im not saying the UFC is bad or not fun to watch or anything, but boxing takes way more skill and dedication then the UFC

lol Hey sport, not every "boxer" has the strength/ability to utilize the jab. They can jab all night and still end up eating a mouth full of Everlast. And when you got 2 fighters with weak jabs, that **** is just as boring to watch as any "wrestling." It's a moot point, all I'm sayin is that the UFC is legit. That mixed martial arts **** is new and it offeres more than Boxing and if you like beat downs, keep your eyes on it. Cause despite the submission focused fighters, there are some hard hitters in that sport. Now I can make you lil fanboys piss out of your *******s right now and say "UFC IS GREATER THAN BOXING" LMAO...But that's not the case. All I'm sayin is that UFC and PRIDE are legit organizations.

UFC can easily be dominated. Just free a guy who served time in prison for a while, make him compete and he'll be UFC Champion in no time.

lol You've never even seen the sport huh? Watch the sport before you say somthin "like that." Not only do they train but they need to learn more defenses than Boxers do.

In Boxing you always hear a fighter say "I didn't have to watch tape on him." Because Boxing defense is just cover the face and body when they get hit.

In MMA they need to know if their opponent is a submission freak, and what submissions does he frequently do and than they need to go into the gym and study the reversals(sp) of those submissions. If their opponent is a ****er they might need to go hit the gym up for Boxing or Kickboxing they need to learn how to slip take downs etc etc...lol **** outa here.

YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! A jab is learned, then if practiced with dedication it is a killer weapon, BUT, many fighters, maybe cause of boxing trainers.....don't see that the jab can be so dangerous and at the same time be used as part of your defence, what im trying to say is EVERYBODY CAN LEARN TO HAVE A GREAT JAB! but it takes practice and full dedication, the jab is so over looked, but im glad george foremen has always said that a jab is a great weapon, why? cause he knows what he is talking about from experiance as do i, though not to even close to the great leveal foreman did, but the jab is a great weapon

basicliy you just like to see a beat down, and don't mind the wrestling tactics or ground fight, cool if that your thing, but dont pretend as if the ufc figthers need more skills to survive, as opposed to boxers who don't, which is ridiculs to even say this

damn, rookie, most fighters don't watch film cause they leave that up to their trainer to plan out a stratagy for them to follow and other fighters may feel they will not fight to their fighters ability but rather to theirs, in other words, fight their fight not their opponets fight
