Maybe I'm giving Walters a lil too much benefit of the doubt. But to me, after the fight, he had the attitude of a guy that felt like he had the deck stacked against him. He was in the biggest fight of his life. And matched against by far the best opponent he's ever faced. And he was doing so coming off a year layoff. Once he saw that Lomachenko was as good, or maybe even better than he thought. He seemee to kinda take the attitude of, "yall robbed me of any chance to win." "So I'm a take my check, and rob yall of the spectacular finish yall want this guy yo have at my expense."

1st it had nothing to do with the weight Walter's stopped because he knew he was in a hopeless situation but it's sad that he had to stop the fight in his Corner did not that's what you're calling her supposed to do...

There's no excuse. Walters literally had months, if not years, to prepare for this fight, and he quit like a bum. Very poor. A disgrace to the sport.

Exactly, and who's gonna pay to watch a boxer who only wants to fight when he's winning?

Walters may not have been bludgeoned which is what we expect when a fighter quits - what happened to him was something worse. He had any hope of winning taken from him when he knew he couldn't do anything to Lom. In a war, a guy getting beat up still thinks he can win because he is able to land and avoid some punches. Walters didn't have either going for him. It's not about if he was taking horrible punishment, it's about the realization he was not going to win this fight at all whatsoever and those punches Lom was landing all over him did hurt. But what happened to him was a form of despair.

I put him I'm the same coward category as Victor Ortiz, and Roberto Duran. Real fighters don't quit like that

You ****ing *******. Wtf is this the mercy rule? Walters is an embarrassment to boxing. He's pathetic and shouldn't be allowed to fight. As much **** as these beer drinking UFC watchers say like boxing is dead, he supports their opinion. How many UFC fighters have you seen quit because they were outclassed? Just cowardice period. So much for his own words. He will do anything it takes to beat Lomachenko huh? Yeah I'm guessing quitting worked fine coward!

The reason he quit is irrelevant, the fact that he quit deserves a swift an immediate reaction from TR! You don't allow a fighter to damage your brand! Walter's post-fight excuse that he was not kept "active" was a slap-in-the-face to Bob Arum and Top Rank. Basically he was implying that he was set up for failure, so he decided to quit! That was childish, and totally unacceptable!

sadly i don't see walters image being any different than what it is now..a quitter. that label will forever be stamped to his name like duran. .i think this sht was even worse than duran, because walters quit having a punchers chance. jamaicans are very prideful people, this was a very bad look. and for ppl saying give him a break, this is boxing etc, i dont remember ortiz getting any breaks after quitting with a broken jaw.

The reason he quit is an important part of the equation. He wasn't quitting on Top Rank, at least not primarily, he was quitting the fight that he felt despair in. He didn't quit because he was "set up for failure". That was a byline to his comments which were based on feelings of defeat all around, but it is true he needs to be disciplined by TR. Otherwise, other fighters could take that way out and an example needs to be set. Quitters should have their pay taken away to set an example of what is not acceptable.
