Once he saw that Lomachenko was as good, or maybe even better than he thought. He seemee to kinda take the attitude of, "yall robbed me of any chance to win." "So I'm a take my check, and rob yall of the spectacular finish yall want this guy yo have at my expense."
if that's the case, it makes it even worse for him. so his "payback" against arum is to damage his own reputation? ..the only loser and humiliated one was him, arum will move on and there's a good chance he might even drop him from top rank.

Forget all the excuses, this man straight quit without ever even really trying. What little stock he did have took a serious blow that im not so sure he recovers from. What an utter disappointment, I can no longer be a fan.

this his credit bob arum said the first offer as bs and too low...and if u meantion the if you beat me contract stuff..i'd ask u to provide me a contract signed like that in the last 10 years...and understand if u can only find 1 or a few..that shows you that ppl dont do that crap...

walters was the victim of politics that he knew he couldnt beat..i wouldnt be suprised if he threw a large bet on him losing by stoppage..HE WON!!

His team wanted to keep going but Walters straight up quit. Does he realize how many fans he has lost because of this?

you couldnt be more wrong. The "boxing politics" did just fine last night. A sold-out venue and an HBO rights fee means Top Rank is just fine. Not to mention the Walters loss means they can dump him alltogether or at least renegotiate his contract and reduce his minimums. Walters on the other hand, well this will stick to him like glue. 95% of the people watching last night dont know and dont care who the promoter was. But they will remember the Jamaican dude that quit......

I give him a pass too - not like he's a trash talker who got what was coming to him (wish that had been Broner in there lol....).

Walters has always seemed like a really nice guy, and pretty sure he still is ! Definitely seemed like something wasn't right about him and the way he thinks he's been handled though - he sure wasn't a happy bunny.

As for the fight, sure we want fighters to go out on their shield, battered and bloodied, and that was the only other option Walters had. Not like he had a shot in there and had to deal with a bad cut or broken nose though, by the 7th he knew he didn't have a shot. Every time he thought about planting to get a shot off, Loma anticipated and he had to reset - nothing was going to change that, and he wasn't going to get any shots off for the rest of the fight - just eat more leather till the final bell or he lost consciousness.

I'd like to see Walters back in the saddle again vs someone like Martinez really soon. Martinez was another one just blown out the water by Loma (differently, but same result), and not fair to any boxer that just because you get destroyed by someone who is one of the best boxers ever that you don't belong in the game any more.

ps. the Ortiz situation was different. Ortiz was in a firefight where he was giving as much as he was taking. He backed out as he didn't want to take the punishment. If Walters was in a firefight with any of Vargas/Salido/Miura, he would be able to dish out as much (or more) as he was catching, and I've got no doubts we wouldn't quit under those circumstances as he would at least be able to get shots off. Those guys wouldn't take his heart like Loma did. eg we know Vargas is a warrior, whats he going to do vs. Loma when he's landed less than 10 shots after 7 rounds and starts to get pounded on ? Start throwing wild shots and get ktfu ? That was Walters only other choice.

He was kept on the shelf too long and got ****ed around with money by Arum. Not an optimal situation heading into the hardest opponent of your life.

Still, you don't quit in boxing. It's not acceptable.

ok good point..but lets call it a draw..walters bet on the stoppage and got up off of his stole to secure his winnings...hbo and tr wouldnt secure his future so he did it imo...speculation, but very possible and quitting like that makes it look like a 90% chance that he did throw the fight..now tr loses a moster and still doesnt know if loma can keep winning...this is more about watler's didnt do thatn loma did do...SRL vs duran 2 type deal..

1st off, you havent the slightest idea if Walters made some kind of bet and only quit on the stool to win that bet. That is 10000% speculation on your part, and the real fact is that by the time Walters figured out that he couldnt beat Lomo, the fight was already underway. No undefeated fighter goes in to a fight like that assuming he cant win.

And 2nd, to act like somehow the jury is still out on Lomo is borderline ******ed. Walters was a solid undefeated fighter, and Lomo completely clowned him as if he were some sub-500 journeyman.

                      Just stop already.
