Why do we project guys who haven't fought anybody as p4p but for Loma some people want to wait? No I have Him Top 3-5 NOW because first of all a lot of the guys that are being projected so high I don't even think is all that great and don't have the Talent/Skills of Loma not even close! Loma has a style that will allow him to dominate for a VERY VERY Long time. Yeah he won't score big Knockouts much but he can put on entertaining boxing clinics
Roman Gonzalez was given P4P mostly based on PROJECTION which he has NOT lived up to IMO and should decline a little. GGG placement on most P4P list is based on Projection of what he can potentially do in big fights once guys grow a pair and fight him.
Ward, Kovalev, Crawford, Rigo, Frampton, just to name a few, all earned their status as P4P in the ring. Now so has Loma IMO!Last edited by sicko; 11-27-2016, 11:05 AM.Comment

The irony is, if a fighter does struggle and wins the decision barely, people claim it was a gift. If they lose it barely, people claim it was a robbery.
Thus why straight, clear victories - whether straight ass whoopings or lopsided decisions - are the answer. I don't want to just remember that Fighter A won. I want to remember THE FIGHT.
I CLEARLY recall Hearns/Duran.
I CLEARLY recall Hagler/Hearns.
I CLEARLY recall Mayweather/Gatti.
I CLEARLY recall Mayweather/Pacquiao.
I CLEARLY recall Tyson/Gross.
I CLEARLY recall Tyson/Spinks.
I don't clearly recall Leonard/Hearns.
I don't clearly recall Hagler/Duran.
I don't clearly recall Mayweather/Castillo.
I don't clearly recall Mayweather/De La Hoya.
I don't clearly recall Tyson/Holyfield, except the Bite Fight.
I don't clearly recall Tyson/Lewis.
Boxing needs clear, decisive outcomes OR straight up drama. It's largely dying because those are rare nowadays.Comment

In No Particular Order:
Loma
Pacquiao (still active so he is still at the Top P4P IMO while I see most P4P rankings leaving him off because he lost to Mayweather?)
Ward
Kovalev
Crawford
Gonzalez (Still P4P one of the best but was given the Crown without earning it. Fighting and beating Estrada again IMO would solidify status as #1)
GGG (Needs big fights but Big Fights don't want any part of him which is not his fault but as soon as he DESTROYS Jacobs or any of the Top Guys at 160 that solidifies him as well)
Frampton (earned his status as P4P and probably fighter of the year beating Quigg and Santa Cruz)
Rigondeaux (not active enough so he is declining because of that IMO but when active and when it comes to pure boxing skills no question he is a Top P4P fighter)Comment

He's definitely above Ward. Gonzalez and Kovalev are debatable.
This was an amazing win for Lomachenko that really affirmed how great he is. It was perceived as a 50/50 fight going in and he totally dominated it.
I'd probably rank him at no.2 behind Gonzalez right now but you can easily make a case for him being the best boxer in the world, he's that good.Comment

it was a robbery lol Loma showed what greatness really isComment

Loma needs a few more wins, a couple of defenses to be P4P #1
But I don't think there is a single serious boxing pundit who does not have him in his top 5 at the moment.
He has the skills to be considered #1, he just needs to prove it some more.Comment
