Spot on as common sense prevails! That's all I've been saying since the fight has happened. Kovalev and his fans need to stop making excuses and blaming the officials for their hero's shortcomings. Sure he didn't lose the fight but neither did the S.O.G. Andre Ward.
There were plenty of opportunities for Sergey to really dominate this fight and beat up Ward to the point of TKO stoppage but was reluctant in doing so. He didn't let his hands go enough, keep a low center gravity, in order to cut off the ring and throw enough combination punches.
He refused, because he feared getting his chin exposed and countered by Andre Ward. He simply chose to chase Ward around the ring, while standing erect in the center of the ring, by not giving away any of his physical advantages and landing only single punches at a time from long range.
Lastly, he allowed Ward back into the fight after badly hurting and dropping him in the first two rounds. From that point forward, he hardly did anything. He foolishly, slowed down the pace, which allowed Andre back into the fight, by finding his rhythm and giving him a renewed sense of confidence.
So no, in the end I agree with you guys that Kovalev didn't lose this fight but at the same time, Ward didn't lose it either because of the things I mentioned above. Therefore, neither fighter could justify winning this fight and that includes the "Krusher" Sergey Kovalev as well.

To all of Kostya Tszyu's detractors, just remember that Sergey Kovalev is a fellow compatriot of his; They are both Russian natives. Therefore, he has no reason to lie or discredit his performance or achievements in the ring, because when one's countryman succeeds, the entire country succeed.

Legend say truth! You can not improve yourself by blaming others. Sergey should work hard and understand himself. Improve his weaknesses. If you work hard you can beat your opponent and referees.

He should mind his own business. I am sure Kovalev and his trainer will study film of the fight and try to do better next time. Meanwhile Kovalev is angry about losing a fight he really won and rightfully so. What boxer in his shoes wouldn't complain?

Many Americans have already admitted that they thought that Andre Ward had lost the fight to Sergey Kovalev; Including many of the posters here on Non Stop Boxing, Larry Merchant, Stephen A. Smith, Jim Lampley, Harold Lederman and the entire staff at HBO's PPV Boxing to just to name a few. So that isn't news.
However, what Kostya Tszyu had to say about Kovalev, is something I found very deep and profound because not many of the "Krusher's" compatriots; Including Russian/Eastern European fighters like: Vasyl Lomachenko or Gennady Golovkin had the moral courage of their convictions as to so much as even confess that he didn't do enough in order to justify winning that fight .
