THE BUILDUP to the rematch will be even hotter, like I trule believe KOVALEV LEGIT HATES him now. They will dislike each other even more for real, I think a true rivalry formed because of this.

That fight wasn't close, Ward lucky to get five rounds
All we hear over and over from Canelo guys is he wins because he lands the more solid commanding shots, not taps while clinching. Kov landed me re often, with more authority, and did so in more rounds. Period. This is the attitude Kovalev should have. Just settle it in the rematch. He lost nothing in terms of status in the sport, regardless of who you think deserved the decision. So if he can decisively win the rematch, the loss on his record mesns little to nothing.
BTW, I wish his whinny ass fans would STFU crying about a robbery. There was no robbery. He was in a close fight and didn't get the decision. Get over it.
He didn't lose any status? Yes he did. It was a straight up robbery, no way around it. Ward'S face at the end all but said it. He had the look if a defeated man. Now he'S muddying the waters trying to distract from the truth, he got his azz beat and outboxed by one Kov.
He lost status because the winner was going to be deemed p4p, and now Kov won't get it because even though everyone knows it was a hometown decision based off of politics, people would question it.Comment

After a couple of rounds of getting countered that bull**** will go out the window. EVERYTIME Andre circled to his left Kovalev was left impotent.Comment

I see these pro Ward posters are pretending they know he didn't get gifted
These Pro Ward posters know damn well he wasn't just beat, he was beat up, and was really ineffective against Kov. The supposed second half comeback is nothing more than him not getting dominated as bad as he was in the first half.
Boxing has a lot of allegiances, whether it be by race, nationality, promotion, and it's clear that comes into play with who you think won.
But he it's only controversial because Ward won. If the judges would have scored the fight for Kov, there wouldn't be much talk of the wrong decision, well mostly because Kov won, but because everyone knows he derserved the win.
Even those who claim Ward won are doing so using a slick reading of events: "a ****ing cone, well two points either way and it's a win for Kov so it's ok."
In close fights if the score is wrong it's still ****ing wrong. But this wasn't even a close fight. Kov won by at least three rounds, easily.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 11-22-2016, 01:14 PM.Comment

Lmaooooo no Kovalev lost because he was taking it easy on Ward? Does a certain demographic have no shame?Kovalev said in the post fight interview that he didn't want a short fight.
He tried to Hopkins- Ward just to prove how he could outbox the sht out of a supposed monster boxer. I also noticed that Kovalev was going easy on Ward and let him survive, since watching the interview I don't think it was a coincidence.Comment

AND THE NEW... FAKE CHAMP!
You know same as me that boxing is a corrupt sport, so it don't matter what corrupt judges say when it's obvious they're corrupt.
By your logic, Bradley beat Pacquiao, and Sweet Pea never beat Chavez. If you that dumb then hell, aint nothing I can do about it.Comment

Exactly. Racially biased fans are doing what you'd expect. I went on youtube that are like 20 black boxing channels who are actual honorable human beings saying that Kovalev won, and the comments are full of the racist black fans calling them "coon" and "uncle tom" for giving their opinion on the fight. These Pro Ward posters know damn well he wasn't just beat, he was beat up, and was really ineffective against Kov. The supposed second half comeback is nothing more than him not getting dominated as bad as he was in the first half.

Those are the types who keep saying Ward won and posting comments "AND NEW!!" and other flat out ridiculous claims like that. Those are the types who would root for boring, overrated fighters in the first place just because of race. They are the problem with humanity as a whole honestly. Anyone who thinks that way is just causing division and hatred, and has hatred in their hearts.Comment

Good observation. After JDJ talked about Ward being in decline, I was almost certain he'd have Sergey going after the body. When he did try throwing on the inside, he landed a few good ones, a couple which were damn scary. But, either his instincts overrode his plans or it was never part of the plan to begin with.Exactly. I made the same exact observation during the fight in the 4th:
One of Kovalev's weaknesses is that he always head hunts. His body work is extremely weak. Hell, fighting Ward on the inside probably made him land more body shots than he has in the rest of his career. He likes his lunging body jab.. outside of that, he's a strict headhunter - which is why Chilemba was so successful against him.Comment
