in the rematch let's hope the big bad wolf is willing to go to war at close range.. if he is, ward will flatline him, i dont think you understand how much of a beast ward is on the inside..kovalev was scared!!

He DID NOT WIN, Ward was gifted the fight, even if that where true, wich is not, where ward on the second half of the fight won most or all of the rounds, he should have lost, he went to the ground, he never dominated Kovalev nor was the aggressor, , Kovalev was the champion with 3 belts, so is not just competing to make it even, to win he should have dominated the fight, and he didn't do that, it was a gift from american judges, most people saw kovalev winning, expert opinions, larry merchant, Max Kellerman, and most of the critics from sports and magazines.

Yeah, right. Kovalev already had 12 rounds to do that (KO Ward) and he just couldn't.

Ward was just coming from a lower division. He needed to get used to the power of the strongest man in light-heavyweight.

Ward has learned his lesson. Kovalev won't be able to stun him with a surprise right and knock him down, or to connect so many jabs like he did.

Don't get me wrong, I think the decision was unjust. It was either a close win for Kovalev or a draw at the worst. Evidently, the American referee and judges wanted Ward to get the belts.

But, let's just be realistic. If Kovalev was unable to KO Ward while being much bigger and seasoned as a light heavyweight, what will be his chances vs. a bigger, smarter and way better prepared Ward, who already experienced Kovalev's strengths and weaknesses, and evidently has a much better ring IQ than him, and is also a more skilled boxer?

Also, the knockdown was only a flash knockdown since it came from a right palm strike more than a straight right.

I mentioned he was going to get schooled and Kov gets schooled even harder on the second fight.
Wards okay with me but I couldn't give him over 4 rounds. I tried to even be bias. lol I just can't see it. Hell, he was even being out boxed.

Kovalev should have known, like everyone else did, that he wasn't going to win a decision - and that's exactly what happened.

Next time don't leave it up to the judges....

Looks like he was mauled by a bear post-fight, got dropped so hard he could barely make it back to his corner, resorts to bear hugging the rest of the fight to survive and that is "schooling" someone?

Yeah, got it now...... my entire worldview just changed.

This is how boxing corruption ****s up everything. Now Kovalev feels he can't just school Ward the way he did the first fight, now he feels like the judges will screw him no matter what, so he has to push for a knockout, which may play into Ward's hands. Everything was set up for Ward to win and he still lost.

By the way you act like Ward got caught once with a fluke punch and nothing else happened. You didn't see Ward stumbling from a jab in one round? Then he bullrushed Kovalev and grabbed him, and the ref took 10 seconds to break them, and then held Kovalev back another 5 seconds and warned him to give Ward more time.

Seriously just watch it, and tell me the ref wasn't in Ward's corner from round 1 trying to give him more time to recover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...s_LqQzlc#t=324

RJJ also said Kovalev hurt him in the 12th to the body. So Ward gets hurt in 25% of the rounds even with the ref helping him, but you try to downplay it to one flash knockdown. Typical Ward fan hypocrisy. 8-4 Kovalev.

This is the attitude Kovalev should have. Just settle it in the rematch. He lost nothing in terms of status in the sport, regardless of who you think deserved the decision. So if he can decisively win the rematch, the loss on his record mesns little to nothing.

BTW, I wish his whinny ass fans would STFU crying about a robbery. There was no robbery. He was in a close fight and didn't get the decision. Get over it.

Sadily, a KO is Kov only path

If I'm a foreign fighter, I really question fighting in America. Especially if the other American is an Olympian.

Looks like K2/GGG would be smart to swerve any future fight with Ward (although the Kov fight shown him to be very beatable) unless he agrees to fight in a neutral country, with one American Judge, One Kazakhstan Judge, and one neutral judge from neither country. If Ward won't agree, that's on him (Hint, he won't fight out of U.S. and we know why).

Too bad for Kov though, he lost his zero and title, he has to have a rematch. No way Ward would agree to anything like making the scoring more fair.
