    It is the obvious !!!

For PAC to beat Mayweather he has to KO him

For Perez to beat Hooker he has to knock him out

For Kov to beat Andre he has to knock him out !!!!

Do you see the trend ??

Next time, hurt him and go hunting for the knockout.
Yes I think that's Kovalev's only shot at winning next time. Can't leave it up to the judges. Serge learned a valuable lesson in how things go in Vegas.

Exactly. I made the same exact observation during the fight in the 4th:
Kov is taking his foot off the gas. These rounds are getting close with Ward starting to establish his style.

One of Kovalev's weaknesses is that he always head hunts. His body work is extremely weak. Hell, fighting Ward on the inside probably made him land more body shots than he has in the rest of his career. He likes his lunging body jab.. outside of that, he's a strict headhunter - which is why Chilemba was so successful against him.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Ward didn't expose Kovalev, nor dominated him, ward does have heart, still no dissection of any king and ward didn't win the fight, it was a biased gift decision, next time we will see more action from kova and more running and holding from ward.

in the rematch kovalev needs to

            - work on his stamina
            - avoid getting bogged down in a grappling contest
            - be a little more conscious about where he places his feet (cut off the ring)
            - mix up his punches and throw more hooks and uppercuts

if he can do that, he'll win, likely by KO

also, his defence was very good in the first fight, but since he said he could barely feel ward's punches then he should be more willing to take one to give one in the rematch

Kovalev said in the post fight interview that he didn't want a short fight.

He tried to Hopkins- Ward just to prove how he could outbox the sht out of a supposed monster boxer. I also noticed that Kovalev was going easy on Ward and let him survive, since watching the interview I don't think it was a coincidence.

except ward DID win the fight..he took over the second half. .secondly why do u keep ignoring it was kovalev the one holding, he place ward in headlocks all night long..headlocks are ILLEGAL, where's your outrage? i smell your BS a mile away. .ward wanted to make it a phone booth war of attrition with the big bad boogeyman, but the monster turned out to be too scared of wards feather fists at close range. .just imagine if ward had a bit more power smh..kovalev is a bully that thrives off fear, ward had no fear, he was in the monsters chest all night.

in the rematch let's hope the big bad wolf is willing to go to war at close range.. if he is, ward will flatline him, i dont think you understand how much of a beast ward is on the inside..kovalev was scared!!

Also, the knockdown was only a flash knockdown since it came from a right palm strike more than a straight right.

I mentioned he was going to get schooled and Kov gets schooled even harder on the second fight.
I honestly think in the second fight Kovalev is going to step out of character and take unnecessary risk and that will be his downfall in the second fight.

I agree that trainer wasn't giving some valid instructions to him other than "don't rush/don't reach".
