It was a close fight, could have gone either way. I was a bit surprised all 3 judges went for Ward, given how close it was I thought at least one would've had it for Kovalev. Draw would've been a decent result, bodyshots really slowed Kovalev down, only round he won from the 5th onward was the 10th IMO.

Rematch should do better business since it was a pretty great scrap, the rematch should have more judges from different countries (even though 114-113 was in the realm of believable I don't think you could've given another round to Ward). I'm glad there is an immediate rematch clause.

I can't see how Ward won 7 rounds and I gave most of the close/swing rounds to him. But it was a good fight, so I don't mind watching it again to score it for a second time.

The crowd who seemed to be behind Ward before and during the fight booed the decision and he isn't a hated figure like Floyd who would have gotten booed regardless. The crowd was mostly supportive of Ward, but didn't like the decision.

Ward is a great fighter and showed heart, but Kovalev proved he was a lot better than people gave him credit for and fought a very smart fight and should have got the nod in what was an otherwise great fight.

The good news is, there is a rematch clause.

It was a very close fight. Could have been a Draw, but Ward is also a deserving winner. He adjusted in the 2nd half of the fight after being down in the 2nd round.

The American does a lot of clinching and wrestling to survive in the fight. The Russian clearly wins the fight, but is robbed on the scorecards.

I really don't understand all the "robbery" cries. You could make a case for Ward in at least 9 rounds, but some of them were so close that they definitely could've gone to Kovalev. Just because Kovalev won some of his rounds more emphatically doesn't mean they're worth any more than the ones Ward won by closer margins (except for the second round of course).

I thought it was a really interesting fight and can't wait to see it again. And Ward did great to come back after the first couple of rounds.
