I'm not eluding to anything. Just stating a simple fact that you are wrong in pointing out that Kov didn't do much, Ward just picked up his own pace. In fact Kovalev actually picked up his punch output in 6-7 compared to round 1-6.

How am i wrong if he lost most of the whole second half of the fight? He might have picked up his activity but he was missing alot as well. Ward was more precise and won 5 of the last 6 rounds.

I can't stand hearing that. How does it work? Do you score the fight, and then apply a "champion bonus" after the fact? Do you give the champion every close round? A specific percentage of close rounds?

I agree with you. Nobody should be given an advantage like that. It's a ridiculous notion just like P4P is a ridiculous notion.

I thought Kovalev deserved the decision without any of that "take the belt from the champ" crap.

You said Kovalev faded during the second half, I said that Kovalev didn't fade, he in fact picked up his pace. Ward merely picked up his pace as well and still wasn't enough to match Kovalev's. The amount of rounds won is irrelevant to my statement.

Not suprised at all, this was a robbery, Ward is a protected fighter, that was obvious with him getting all his super six fights at home and a lot of the refs too. Kovalev clearly won that fight but he should have know this would happen in america, especially vegas, to him, nobody i know thought he could take a decision

I'm surprised Kovalev's team didn't demand judges from other countries. Were they so confident that they would win by KO? All American judges and referee....That was a bad deal for Kov. I know lots of people thought this could happen but I wasn't so sure about that.....I was wrong.

Sorry, Kovalev won. Surprized you all are kidding yourselves. You can't even call it a close fight. Ward didn't get dominated but it's pretty easy to see he lost this fight. Commentating was pretty bad on Jones part
And even outside of effective punching ( which kovalev win) he also pressed the action while Ward ran and held. Robbery in my book.

For the record though, I thought ward would win.

So you discredit Kov for fading and give credit to Ward for doing less than him. Makes sense.

modern boxing is starting to piss me off. Ward gave such a lack luster effort in this fight and he is still getting credit from some people. Not only that but Kovalev made the fight, he had to chase Ward down.

Now I understand if you use footwork to move away but still end up kicking your opponents ass like Robinson vs Lamotta or whitaker vs Chavez (all competitive fights) but when you run all night and simply try to cut the round down to 3/4 of fighting and try to steal it with a jab, that's cracking the system, not beating the fighter. Not only that, but Ward did barely any effective punching, the dude ran and clinched all night - it was a mediocre display for someone to be stealing a fighters title who literally chased him down and in my books still landed the better shots, the entire night - save for a few rounds that Ward stole.
