low blows, holding and hitting, hitting with the inside of the glove. these are the things that won ward the fight according to ward defenders so lets look up if they are legal.....oh wait you are the ones who know so much about boxing surely you wouldnt be counting these as legal clean shots that won ward the fight? you wouldnt do that....even if you did coutn that crap he still loses but hey when yo dont have any substance you work with what you got

no he didnt. he was backing up and on the end of kovalevs punhes for most of the fight but some people will see what they want to see. he simply couldnt get off unless he was hugging kovalev(illegal) but here we go again with people scoring illegal tactics as clean work, defense, ring generalship, etc...then they are telling us we dont know anything about boxing....
Are you suggesting Kovalev won this fight 8-4 or something?

It would have been great if they gave Kovalev the win in the first fight. He won, whether or not it says so on the record.
Ward will likely be comfortable and cautious in the rematch. I think he is the favorite based on the nature of rematches and the advantage given to the more defensive fighter.
Instead of having a historic trilogy we will have kigali types spamming that he "tapped dat azz twice!"
These dream fights always end up ruined by boxing's inherently flawed judging format. Some fateful day the scoring guidelines will be more defined.

And I wish boxing had real champions. Note another thread today where someone asks who is the real heavyweight champion now. Truth is, we have no idea. There is no champion.
I really doubt that the Ward Kovalev rematch will produce a clear and obvious winner that we can all agree on.Last edited by Joe Beamish; 06-14-2017, 05:48 PM.
