Ward won. And he won clearly with an accumulation of body shots and consistent scoring jabs upstairs.. But it was the jab to the body that won him the fight.

Anyone who disagrees has two choices. Rewatch the fight and actually score body punches and see how clearly Ward won or deny outright that body punches don't count as scoring punches and you can save everyone a lot of time and expose yourself as an idiot and a neophyte here and now.

Ward threw punches, Kovelev threw more. Ward landed punches, Kovalev landed more. Kovalev had the much harder shots of the two. So why exactly did Ward win? Did he ever have Kovalev hurt or made him back up? Was there any decisive moment where Ward really shined in this fight?

yes and the split is highly in kovalev's favor....any fight is going to be split. some people scored pac bradley for bradley so that was split. i guess it wasnt a robbery because some people suck at scoring/are religious type fanboys?

                  A. People can't see past their bias
                  B. Many "fans" have casual eyes.
                  - You can see the clear jabs, hooks, and straights, but do not understand ring generalship and have no respect for body work.

Ward dictated the pace throughout majority of the fight and was killing Sergey on the inside.

Kovalev needs to up his conditioning and lean on his jab heavily throughout the fight in the rematch.

Damn close fight! Anyone who says otherwise DKSAB!"
those rounds were not close...every round ward won or might have won was close.

no he didnt. he was backing up and on the end of kovalevs punhes for most of the fight but some people will see what they want to see. he simply couldnt get off unless he was hugging kovalev(illegal) but here we go again with people scoring illegal tactics as clean work, defense, ring generalship, etc...then they are telling us we dont know anything about boxing....

@ thinking how the two fights were scored is comparable. About 97% of the media scored the fight for Pacquiao over Bradley(*). That's almost a complete consensus. A 70-25-5 ish split indicates one fighter was thought to win by a lot more people but that there was a sizable chunk of people who saw it the other way. Two completely different and not comparable situations.

I understand that the decision was unpopular, but using the word robbery to describe a fight that could reasonably be scored for the fighter who won is trying a bit too hard to discredit the decision. Comparing the decision to one of the least popular decisions of all time is in hilarious reach territory.

when did this happen? he was the one going backwards most of the fight. he would go bakcwards get picked apart with jabs and power shots until he found the right time to lunge forward and grab a hold of kovalev. i wouldnt call that takign the fight to kovalev. this proves that no matter what happens fanboys will simply make up their own narrative. guy going backwards and waiting for opportunity to jump forward and clinch=taking the fight to the other fighter. you know you are biased when you have to go this far

just imagine what ward fanboys would say if it was an actual close fight...schooling! we know they are pretending that ward won because they all say well it could have gone eitehr way, it was super close. that means they know ward lost
