Who won : kovalev or ward?

What's even sadder is how people don't care that Kovalev was robbed. They just wanted to see Kovalev lose under any circumstances. Kovalev won that fight 7-5.

A fight doesn't have to be a whitewash to be a robbery. It was close but very clear. At worst that fight was 6-6, in which case Kovalev wins because of the knockdown.

Also the crowd was lame, any little jab Ward landed would cause them to erupt

I'm pretty much done with boxing, I'll watch the rematch but I can't be enthused about this sport anymore.

I said it "could" have been 6-6 at worst for Kov.

And if you read my post you would understand I said a fight doesn't have to be a whitewash to be a robbery.

Plenty of fights are close but clear. This was one of them.

I was predicting a Ward win because I thought Ward would be both stronger on the inside and landing cleaner shots. By the end of round 6 it looked like Ward had been through a war and Kovalev was walking forward with a dont give a **** attitude.

I ended up giving Ward a share of the latter rounds so the fight ended at 7-5 for Kov for me, not only that, it should have been 3 points on the scorecard cos of the KD.

Those scores were a joke.

I didn't like Ward, for many reasons, he earned my respect big time tonight but I don't think he won the fight.

He outlanded him
After the fight his face looked like he wasn't in a fight
His punches were much harder
He dropped him
He came in as champ
He won more rounds

I had Kovalev winning but I have no problem with the decision because it was such a close fight to call, I think technically Kovalev showed he's the better fighter in almost all aspects of the game, fought a perfect fight early. Ward however was better conditioned and never stopped believing, mental championship qualities that very few have, Kovalev definitley tired late and that cost him the fight. John David Jackson prepared Kovalev perfectly for that fight.

There must be a rematch, this fight is a no contest to me untill someone wins clearly in the rematch or the rubber match, this can be one of the biggest rivalries the sport has ever seen. Hopefully Ward doesn't run away wih the decision and give us the rematch to prove that he was really the best, I have even more respect to Ward now even though I didn't think he won the fight but I'd lose all of that respect if he doesn't give Kovalev the rematch that he truly deserves.
