I had Ward taking most of the rounds in the second half and winning but I thought the judges would favour Kovalev being the aggressor so I was happy when Ward got the decision, the rematch definitely needs to happen next.

Im a boxing fan and calling it fair ROBBERY! Kovalov i had him winning 7 rounds with a knockdown ..ward rounds that he won judges could gave two those round to kova ...

here we go with the holding complainers.. my god, look at kovalevs size compared to ward (what is his fight night weight?) i mean how can kovalev let chicken leg ward dictate the inside? besides when wlad hold he does absolutely nothing, he just waits for the ref to break it up, when ward holds he goes to work on the inside.. and inside fighting is legal..he dogged kovalev on the inside, which shocked me because of kovalevs size.

Yep. Kovalev didnt impose his will enough in this fight, he didnt act like the bigger guy. After round 4-5, Ward was connecting everywhere.

Exactly how I had it. I can see it either way or a draw since there were several real close rounds. Immediate rematch is the only solution here, one fight wasn't enough to determine who is better.

I've been watching boxing for more than 50 years
my grandfather introduced me to the sport, he was a fighter
there have always been bad decisions
but at this level this kind of bull**** shouldn't happen
boxing is so ****ed right now

I can't believe that having been a lifelong fan I'm so disgusted I find myself seriously asking myself if I should ever watch a fight again

all serious fans watch a lot of everyday fights

but we live for the great fights where the great fighters face each other and we witness something special

now, these occasions are few and far between

fights are left to 'marinate' for years and momentum is lost (eg ggg and canelo)

the game suffers but then we have moments of hope - Kovaleve and Ward, a fight worthy of the sport
and then we get this bull**** decision
is more than disheartening, it's sickening

I truly didn't care who won, but I cared that it was a fair fight and the true winner's hand was raised

and Ward and Hunter going on about how they knew they won (look at their faces before the decision was announced) and Kellerman going on about how it would be controversial but not bad - just awful

Yep , none of them know what the **** they are talking about. People want excitement and aggression, but the more aggressive fighter doesn't win the fight against a better technical one, and since most of the ringside people are regular joes, celebrities, and keyboard warriors, they don't know shtt about boxing or how a boxing fight is scored, people wanna see violence, blood , so they are always gonna support that type of fighter, but for the ones that do know boxing they are gonna agree with the decision and agree the fight is scored on points not on agression

They both have the same fight night weight. Around 186-188.

No way ward won that fight. The best outcome he had was maybe a draw. Kov won that fight. Flat out robbery. All Ward was doing was clinching and back peddling all night. Bull**** winner at the end and these is what's wrong with boxing the wrong guy won
