People that are saying the Ward was holding didn't see the fight. Kov was doing a lot of holding

I think you're underrating Kovalev. He was a beast against Pascal in the rematch.

He looked completely unbothered by Ward's power. I think he comes out aggressive and Ko's Ward within 6-8 rounds.

Hopefully I'm wrong. I like Kovalev but he's one of the most basic I've seen. I don't like Ward but he's definitely the smarter of the two and will adapt better for the rematch.

If there's a good ref for the rematch then it may make it more interesting.
Kovalev did hold but that's because Ward kept bending at the waist and trying to come in with his head, which is illegal. That's why Kovalev also had to result in pushing Ward's head down. Ward also landed some low blows but Byrd never said anything to him and when Kovalev lands just one the ref was on top of him.

Everything is stacked against Sergey in a rematch, I think. Kovalev's best shot was to win the first fight and that was taken from him.

Most impressive part of this win for ward is how damn strong the dude is. He out muscled the naturally bigger LHW, and Kovalev was taking Sambo classes.

If it wasn't for that vicious beatdown in the first two rounds I wouldn't have a problem with it.

When the challenger has to beat the champ very clearly to beat the champ, gets knocked down and hurt several times and outlanded in the fight, while most of his work is done on the backfoot and in the clinch, it becomes hard not to label it a robbery.

I'm not upset with the result. Because my buddy and I watched it and I was telling him that Ward was edging most of the rounds when Kovalev would land a couple hard shots that made the announce team go crazy. I'm just curious as to how they came up with the scores. 114-114 is a draw in a 12rd fight. When they announced 114-113, I assumed they had scored it six rounds apiece, with Kovalev winning because of the KD.
