    It's going to be interesting to see who garners more support from the crowd tonight. Might depend on how the fight goes.

      Ward clinched a lot even in the amateurs.

      Worse, Ward uses other illegal tactics like head butts and elbows & thumbs into his opponents' eyes.

      Why do you keep bringing up Wladimir Klitschko? This thread is about Ward and Kovalev.

      29 year old Wlad.

      1 = 6 holds
      2 = 6 holds
      3 = 10 holds (5 attempted but Peter pushed him off)
      4 = 6 holds (3 attempted)
      5 = 10 holds (7 attempted)

      Do i need to keep going?

        I think Ward is arrogant and has an entitiled kind of attitude. Aside from that, I do think he has good boxing skills and I definitely give him credit for going through with the fight. I'll have to pay up on a few bets because of it but it appears that he is man enough to see it through.

        As the two guys who are percieved to be the best in the division (Superduck doesn't count in my book) to be fighting each other, it's sad that it's such a rarity in the sport now days. Looking forward to a good fight, one that I think Kovalev will win.

            We need more fighters with the skill and power of Kovalev, plus guys with his mentality. Two wins over pascal, a win over hopkins, winning a defending his world titles on foreign soil etc.

              Name one example of this.

                Just call him a n%gger and be done with it.

                Stop all that arrogant nonsense...don't tiptoe..you're fruity enough as it is.

                That's the same thing people said about Jack Johnson damn near 100 rears ago....you bigots need new material...especially non-white, white supremacists like yourself.

                Kovalev is arrogant......and a coward.

                He called Stevenson a chicken....then ran like a chicken when Stevenson approached him...from his OWN post fight interview.

                I've never seen that before.

                Arrogant and entitled...that sounds just like your boy Trump.

                Can't wait 'till a stiff breeze blows that dead hyena off his head.

                You know it's coming.

                It might come during his swearing in....lol

                  Wow....talk about unimpressive.

                  Cowards like Kovalev is the last thing boxing needs more of.

                  He likes to gloat over his fallen oppoents and call them slurs...other fighters get much hate for behavior like that.

                  That b*tch called a man a chicken...then took off running when the chicked showed up.

                  Maybe it's a cultural thing....but here in America...you don't talk **** about a man then scurry off when dude shows up.

                  That's a hoe-style move..

                  At least it is in this Country

                  Duva demanded Kovalev get the #1 WBC rating and a purse bid...she got both...then hauled ass away from her own demands.

                  A coward promoted by a coward.

                      Pro boxing has always been the most popular in America where fighters from all over the world come to make the biggest possible paydays they can make and go back home and be millionaires, Pacquiao, Chavez, Duran, Arguello, Schmeling and the list of great foreign fighters goes on and on, these guys benefited mightly from fighting in America and were even favored by fans over local American fighters throughout their careers. America has been fair to a lot of foreign fighters including Kovalev, Lomachenko and GGG, who would've ended up broke like Sefarim Todorov hadn't they made the move to America.

                      Ward won the olympics with the same style, he won against all kinds of styles, had all kinds of refs and judges work his fights and only has 3 fouls against him in all his fights, he went to fights against the best in the world as the underdog, he was considered an underdog by American fans and recieved criticism by American fans and Media despite having his whole career in America. Kovalev saying that women should stay in the kitchen (which i somehow agree with but is against the American society) and his racist remarks got thrown under the rug and he continues to recieve more praise from HBO, Media and fans compared to Ward. Plus this fight is not in Ward's hometown, it's in the Mecca of boxing and there would've never been a better place.
