If I had a vote, it would be for Garcia vs. Crawford @ 147!Comment

i dont want to be too harsh on arum here because for the most part hes done fine by terrence crawford...but the postol fight for the true 140 lb title should have been seen by many more people by being shown on premium cable rather than ppv...and arum will really have dropped the ball on making this kid into a crossover type star if he dont land crawford the manny fight before somebody else gets to the aging superstar first or manny retires for good...Comment

There were plenty of fighters who beat De La Hoya and Manny lost to Marquez and Bradley. None of those fighters ended up being big PPV stars. Crawford could beat Manny and end up like them. It takes a special fighter like FLoyd and Manny to elevate themselves into boxing superstars. Who knows if Crawford is able to. Remember Floyd was beating up on everyone coming up fighting better opposition and wasn't getting that much attention while being promoted by Arum. Arum couldn't or wouldn't get Floyd a fight with Oscar.
Didn't mention if you beat manny you'll automatically be the a ppv star. I did say beating manny gives you better, improved and bigger name and purse deal in the future, look at marquez he is now being called a legend largely due to beating pac one time, Bradley ended up well-respected, settled for life and a bigger name despite being dominated by pacman, he is earning millions now every fight. The point is, these young guns should not be afraid to get schooled or simply lose by pricing themselves out of the deal to this old legend because in reality there is more of a chance their name will be bigger win or lose than them going back to nothing.Last edited by spenz; 11-17-2016, 04:00 PM.Comment

I have to agree with Floyd as far as him saying Crawford isn't being promoted correctly. He's a talented fighter, one of the best 140 pounders and his first ppv did 50k SMH I bet half were bought in Nebraska lolComment

I don't think he's being promoted badly as such, it's just how much can you really promote a guy in the current climate at 140? There's some pretty good fighters but not enough names. 147 is where the bigger names are.Comment

I agree with a lot of what Floyd says about Crawford being a great fighter who could be promoted better.NEW YORK Floyd Mayweather Jr. complimented Terence Crawford's skills Wednesday and predicted he'll beat John Molina Jr. next month. Boxing's biggest star didn't hesitate, however, to take a direct shot at Crawford's promoter, Bob Arum, for failing to make Crawford a bigger star. Mayweather has long been critical of Arum's inability to make Mayweather himself a household name when Arum's company promoted the undefeated five-division champion from 1996-2005.

It took me a while to come around on him, but I believe Crawford is the real deal.Comment

I think Arum is doing fine with Crawford, the Postal fight being on PPV was not ideal but it is not like that was Arum's choice he had his hand forced. While that is a very quality win it is not like that fight was ever going to really move the needle and it was not exactly a scintillating fight either.
To me Crawford has to take a bit of initiative and really get his name out there in different ways, which is something Floyd was willing to do especially when he got to see all the profit from it. Even with Arum taking a cut creating a bigger pie will benefit Crawford plenty, and it will make Arum's promotion job much easier.Comment

Arum is the guy who signed Crawford right away when nobody else had interest. Mikey Garcia told Arum that he was good. Arum got him checked out and signed him right up.
Arum pushed him right. Got him good fights and turned him into a marketable champion.
Arum builds fighters. Everyone else then tries to steal them LOLComment
