Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Crawford 'Hell Of A Fighter;' Not Promoted Right Way

NEW YORK Floyd Mayweather Jr. complimented Terence Crawford's skills Wednesday and predicted he'll beat John Molina Jr. next month. Boxing's biggest star didn't hesitate, however, to take a direct shot at Crawford's promoter, Bob Arum, for failing to make Crawford a bigger star. Mayweather has long been critical of Arum's inability to make Mayweather himself a household name when Arum's company promoted the undefeated five-division champion from 1996-2005.

It's going to be interesting to see how things play out for Crawford in 2017. Arum now has the dilemma of trying to secure fights for Pacquiao, and yet Crawford wants to fight the same people, or Pacquiao himself. Arum tried to make Pacquiao vs. Broner, but I'm sure Crawford would've loved Crawford vs. Broner! Crawford wants a piece of Danny Garcia, but so does Freddie Roach! If Garcia wins, will Crawford get a shot, or Pacquiao?

Mayweather is such a sad, insecure person.

Bob Arum is a huge a**hole, but Crawford is being promoted well, by a company that actually knows what they are doing.

Mayweather is a clown who showers his new fighters with money and nightlife fun, and then throws them under the bus when they lose focus.

Mayweather, the promoter, shows up to press conferences for his fighters an hour and a half late like he is the boxer, instead of a professional. I don't think he has ever promoted a star fighter because of his insecurity of possibly not being the one to get all of the attention. What a sad person.

So Floyd has a champion for over a year in Badou Jack, had champs in Ishe Smith snd Mickey Bey yet nobody besides hardcore fans know who they are.

Crawford will have 15k fans or more at his next fight while Jack Degale will have to giveaway 4000-5000 tickets to have Barclays half as full and Thats with a rican champ on the card.

None of those tmt guys sell tix anywhere or are known by sny casual fans. Floyd should talk about the terrible promotional job hes doing with them.

Crawford seems to be doing ok. I mean Crawford, he's doing ok. And at the end of the day, if Crawford is doing ok, then Crawford, he's doing ok.

Mayweather would know. He was promoted by Top Stank. Just because you see a fighter on PPV doesn't mean they are being promoted or paid properly. Arum is the same dirtbag that said black fighters can't draw a crowd. Mayweather proved him wrong.

This is the same Mayweather guy who is sick of fighters asking for too much money.

Mayweather: I'll Tell Haymon - Fighters Getting Too Much Money!

Retired former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) is not happy with the recent events in boxing. He believes fighters are asking for too much money to step in the ring.
