Hey Scotty, due to you asking me for links I just found out something I didn't know till now - Kovalev is on an even bigger guarantee than Ward ... $7million, ffs!

I based my reply to you on this article, which I read here a couple of days ago, which doesn't mention Krusher's guarantee at all, just Ward's.

He had a history of turning down offers for fights he considered to be dangerous for him ... rematches with Froch and Kessler, on their turf, Bute and Stevenson.

Canelo, on the other hand, had a history of accepting fights from opponents considered to be dangerous for him .. Mayweather, Trout and Lara.

That was what I based my opinions on Ward and Canelo upon - the history of the two men, as I interpreted it.

And btw, if I'd known how much Roc had guaranteed Ward for the Kovalev fight, my opinion on whether he would go through with it might have been different.

I thought he and Krusher would just be splitting the income 50/50, with no extras for Andre from Roc.

Whatever, Ward is obviously determined to give this fight everything he has, now that he's signed for it, so respect to him for that.
The purse split is supposedly 60-40 in Kovalev's favour so I'm certain Kovalev is probably getting more than Ward is so there goes that argument.

When has Ward officially turned down a rematch with Froch, who has gone on record saying he doesn't think he can win. When Froch says he doesn't think he can beat Ward it doesn't mean anything but when he says swerve Golovkin then it absolutely means he doesn't want to fight him, why is that???

Did he ever enter negotiations with Froch or Kessler for rematches?? As far as I could see neither of those guys did anything other than talk in the media the way most potential Golovkin opponents do but your perspective differs because of your fanboyism.

I get bringing up Bute but Stevenson??? Please when did Ward say he won't fight Stevenson, show me an actual interview or clip where Ward dismisses Stevenson as an opponent the way he did to Bute. You don't think Golovkin is ducking Lara (neither do I)but you think Ward avoided Stevenson?? Why is that? ..... the scenarios seem similar as it's pretty much hear say from the fighter claiming to be ducked.

Again you just make more excuses instead of admitting you were wrong but do carry on.

Of course. And also aware that if GGG had signed a contract agreeing to fight him for the WBA SMW title, that would have nullified the contract he had from the WBC locking him in as mando for their MW belt.

            That's cool, it's all informative.

You were insinuating Ward was demanding more than his rival though, which I don't really even take issue with ! These guys are prize fighters and Ward was inactive for 18 months due to him feeling his promoter wasn't warning him his worth and stealing a living off of his name.

Why the dislike of Ward ? Guys like this in boxing are rarer than Dodo's, only Krusher, Klitschko, Fury and Ward I feel deserve to be mentioned in the same breath, Hopkins too.

Ward turned an offer from Kessler's promoter for a rematch in Denmark, which was reported to be for a career high purse.

Eddie Hearn went over to the States to talk to him about rematching Froch over here after Ward said, from ringside at the Froch/Bute fight, that he was open to doing it.

All Hearn said after that was "Forget it. Ward is not an option for Carl" or words to that effect.

Ward turned down 2 offers from Stevenson, to fight at 168 and then at 175. The reason he gave was the same reason he gave for turning down Bute .. he's done nothing to earn a fight with me.

I was wrong about Ward and Kovalev. Didn't I just say so?

So now I'm going to find the video of him saying that, make a gif from it and post it here 100 times a week to prove that he ducked Golovkin.
