So, we're likely to see a rematch... My heart can't handle going through all this again.

I think everyone is getting a bit ahead of themselves.

And why would a fighter called the Krusher need a rematch clause anyway ???

yea, I can't see how it has anything to do with the underdog

rematch clauses are insurance, against injury/robbery/etc

common as anything for a champion

not surprised at all that Ward agreed, he probably had to

Ward - 7mil, Kovalev - 5mil..... but I think there could be some truth in the point above from don larryx

Kovalev takes on all comers because he has no choice. Main Events does not pay him very much money compared to others of his same caliber, such as Golovkin and Adonis Stevenson.

I don't think Kathy Duva will go anywhere near a rematch after this fight because Andre Ward will do to Kovalev what he did to Chad Dawson and what Froch did to Bute.

Ward's guarantee is basically a fee package to show up (plus some unmentioned upside at some point); Main Events controls the financials for the actual fight.

No different than Matchroom Sport paying Golovkin $4m to come to the UK; with the fight selling out the O2, likely doing well on PPV in the UK, and Brook being entitled to an 80/20 share of the proceeds after costs, it's pretty obvious that Matchroom Sport was the A-side and Golovkin was simply a well payed opponent.

Thanks! You want to know what makes that quote even more absolute ether and kryptonite to Fl0mos? I'm like 99% sure that Floyd Mayweather Jr. said JCC Sr. is one the top 5 fighters of all time.

                      YUP! http://www.foxsports.com/boxing/stor...o-duran-081015

So you have Fl0mo favorite #2, Andre Ward, admitting GGG is better both offensively and defensively, than Fl0mo favorite #1's, Floyd himself's, top five fighter of all time.

It is Fl0mo kryptonite on the GGG issue. There's nothing they can say after that. Floyd thinks Chavez Sr. is the 4th best fighter of all time, and Ward thinks GGG is even better.
