you do realize that Joe in all his defenses only fought maybe 3 top 10 contenders right?
Larry, that's a downright lie. Outside of Bhop, Kessler, Lacy, Eubank
Reid, Sheika, Woodhall, Brewer, Veit, Mitchell, Bika were all top 10 super middleweights at the time Joe fought them. You can argue about their quality (especially Veit) but you're statement is wrong.
To answer the thread the winner IMO would rank higher than Calzaghe.
Calzaghe is above Ward it's not even debatable. He beat an undefeated Kessler no controversy, if anyone tells you Ward's second best win over Froch is a better achievement than Calzaghe white washing Hopkins they have an agenda. Jones, Lacy are as good wins if not better than Abraham and Rodriguez.
Does a win over Krusher move him alongside Joe or above him ? No, Calzaghe would have schooled Kovalev.
Reid: very good win.
Veit x2: good wins
Eubank: great win
Kessler: great win
Lacy: great win
Sheika: good win
Mitchell: good win
Brewer: good win
Bika: good win
Hopkins: great win
Jones: good win
Woodhall: good win
Vs
Ward:
Kessler: should have been DQ'd so doesn't count.
Dawson: drained like hell so meant nothing
Abraham: coming off 2 defeats, one very bad against Froch, but still good win.
Bika: had been out for 18 months, but still good win.
Froch: great win
Anyone who thinks Ward is equal or has a better resume needs to go and see a psychologist immediately. You are damaged goods and seriously creepy.
The one where Calzaghe landed double the amount Hopkins did and the one where Hopkins kept acting attempting to have his opponent docked several times because he knew he couldn't beat him legitimately.
The scores were something like 117-111, 9-3 read and weep puppy dog.
In 46 fights did he beat even 6 top 10 contenders=NO!!!!
so please explain how Ward beating Kovalev would not make him greater then Joe when Ward in the Super 6 alone beat more top contenders then Joe did in his entire damn career
Not that I necessarily disagree with Ward or possibly Kov being ranked above him after a big win this weekend, but I'm pretty sure he beat more than 6 top 10 contenders.
Hopkins, Kessler, Bika, Mitchell, Lacy, Brewer, Eubank, Woodhall, Reid were all champions and then you've got contenders like Sheika, Veit, etc.
Not a great resume by any means, but not quite as poor as some are making it out to be.
Ward still won't have the numbers in all, but he can certainly get there and would be getting close with a win over Kov...he just doesn't have all the surrounding fluff that Calzaghe has on his.
Kessler
Froch
Abraham
Dawson
Bika
Anyway, don't really care that much either way. I just wanna see a cracking fight this weekend!
Reid: very good win.
Veit x2: good wins Eubank: great win Kessler: great win Lacy: great win

unranked eubank who had just lost twice and never won again is a great win....also you are wrong. lacy is a super duper great win.
I got joe higher than floyd and ward right now.
A ward win means hes going in the right direction could possibly one up floyds legacy
A kov wins means hes a few wins removed from joes legacy.
