In fact, i wouldn't question it..the fact they see a negative in getting the best fights the sports has to offer, speaks volumes.
The alternative to not getting these 'once in a lifetime fights'..is well, not getting them.
Imagine that, all those super-fights through-out history that got us hooked on the sport didn't happen because the fighters didn't want to take a 'L'.
2016 has been another poor year for the sport. In a time when the norm seems to be miss-matches and the top guys not facing eachother, Ward - Kovalev is a massive breath of fresh air. It's exactly what the sport need. This year, or any year.
It's like when Bradley lost his "0" - all of a sudden nobody cares about the dude. Despite the fact that he's only ever lost to a top fighter.
Hamed - people stopped caring when Barrera schooled him.
No matter what you say, there is a definite downside to taking these fights at this stage of their career. I think that's Floyd's point - he really should fight someone he can clearly beat that would still make him good money. Like Golovkin. Somehow.
