The biggest conspiracy in boxing is for promoters and fanboy writers to do anything they can to make as much money as possible.
The most important color in boxing is green.
When FM fought, everybody around him made money. One of the things that made Floyd a big attraction and a crossover star with casual fans was his undefeated record. That's what stoked fan interest and created excitement.
FM was the cash cow for boxing, Nevada and Las Vegas. So there just might have been some interests by those parties in keeping that streak going.
I'm not talking about throwing a fight, just possibly a friendly ref or sympathetic judges.
If FM wants to talk conspiracies, I'd say that's more feasible than some kind of plan to make a boxer like Ward, who most casuals don't know, lose to a Russian fighter who casuals know even less.
If you want to understand boxing, follow the money.

To me, this just shows what each man is about. Ward does like to play the GGG game but he has stepped up to challenge himself & be a fighter. Mayweather cherry picks who he knows he'll beat.

I'm still trying to figure out how Ward had home field advantage in Atlantic City?? He never fought there before?? And Froch Beat Johnson in AC 6 months earlier??? And Wahhgumm CRIES about Ward fighting in Oakland! I'm willing to bet $$ that Froch fought MORE times in Nottingham than Ward ever did in Oakland. Probably fight TWICE as many times at home than Ward did.

You totally forgot to mention Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, who is 46-0 at the moment, 38 KOs, who is considered by many the REAL best P4P fighter in the world today, and who is soon to break Floyd's "record" of 49-0. I put the word record in quotes because there are many other ATG boxers which have surpassed his 49-0 record by far, for example JCC Senior who was 89-0 before he got his 1st loss. And like him there are many others. Many people ignore this fact because they (ATG boxers who surpassed the 49-0 mark by far, before losing for the 1st time) were stubborn and retired later than when they should have, so they ended up having defeats that never should have happened.
