But to the article's point Floyd is right as in you can't compare their careers since Floyd was far more accomplished in his sport than Conor is in his. However, Conor's marketing strategy is basically an amalgam of Ali Floyd, and Rick Flair. So the comparison between Floyd and Conor is right when we are talking about marketing alone.
McGregor is not at Mayweathers level for career accomplishments, but hes approaching it. McGregor is 1st fighter ever to have 2 UFC titles in different weight classes simultaneously. If McGregor won 170 lb, that would at least equal or surpass Floyd. 3 titles on UFC is more impressive than 5 in boxing bc the amount of lbs bt weight classes is more and boxing has more titles. Floyd never won lineal or Ring championship at 140 lets remember too.
McGregor gets waaay more knockouts too

I don't want to see an MMA match because he would kick Floyd's legs or grab him.
Firstly, I think it meant popularity, although as I stated above McGregor already doing things no one has ever done. 2nd, McGregor took the fight with Diaz on very short notice 15 lbs heavier than the contracted weight. mayweather wouldve never done that.
3rd, in terms of just accomplishments, Jon Jones would be in discussion

It's unknown whether he makes 145 again. He was killing himself to make that weight. His team says he can, but that was extreme weight cutting and he's 28 now, so it's going to start to get harder to cut and bounce back. His body may have settled above that threshold already.

The boxing playbook says just fight at catchweights.

A lot of "Americans" hated Rock-and-Roll until Elvis did it! A lot of "Americans" hated Hip-Hop until Eminem did it! I think Mayweather actually made a mistake when he entertained a fight between he and McGregor! By considering him for a potential foe, he gave him the credibility to be considered a peer, his equal, or his equivalent in the MMA!

me personally, being of some african blood and of a 7+inch sized ****, just prefer his higher caliber wit and trash talk to floyds.

conor knows he can't make the type of money floyd has over his career doing MMA ... this fight might just come off if dana stops with that kicks and elbows crap. i'd love to see floyd bash this fool in a match with just queensbury rules.

                      You're right floyd.

Mcgregor is much more impressive than you. He beats people by KO, isn't a wife beater, will make a ridiculous amount of money, and willbe able to retire much earlier than Floyd.

Mcgregor is a bigger "thing" than Floyd ever was.
