Wow! So Ward is getting more for this fight than Kovalev, the defending 3 belt champion!

$5million guarantee from Roc ... now I know why Andre took this fight after all - and it's not because the racists forced him to!

$5million is good cash out money for Ward, but not for his promoter. Jay Z must love giving his money away.

But BAD for Golovkin to try and do the same, as defending champ, against Jacobs.
I guess the question is if Ward and Cotto can get these kind of guarantees from Roc Nation, why isn't GGG getting the same from K2?

        Thank You!
Why should I worry about a potential "bad business decision" when the people making it have already made that decision and bitten the bullet. And I assume Roc Nation has deep pockets, one bad decision won't make or break them especially when the decision was made in order to have a P4P vs another P4P!

The only downside I see is that the undercard suffers because now they probably can't afford to pay anyone else in the 6 figures.

            Don't count another man's money.......

They will get at least 200K PPV buys plus let's not forget international rights, gate and merchandise. So Ward getting $5 mil is actually justified. I'm surprised to see this article. Roc Nation knows what they're doing. Plus he signed a $40 mil contract with Roc Nation. So Ward will continue to be in big fights for the forseable future provided he continues to win.

With the absolute minimum marketing for this fight I'll be surprised with anything higher than 200k.

Who cares how much he's making as long as he's fighting a credible opponent, which he clearly is. I would understand if he was fighting a low level fighter, then fans would want that money to go towards making better fights. But whatever each guy is making in a fight like this, it's deserved.

Gvozdyke vs Chilemba is a good fight that gives main event winner a future opponent

Competitive fights bring big money. That's what coward Golovkin doesn't get.

This a scared Golovkin fan writing a hit piece. Russian rights alone might be in the millions.
