    The PPV needs to sell 400k to cover a $5 mil guarantee? 400k generates $28 mil. So no.

      $5 million??? Damn..... This PPV will have to do at least 250 to 300k buys to not be a loss. I believe it can hit those numbers though.

        Loved this;

          It's all our collective duties to buy this PPV and incentivize more good matchmaking.

            This article is dog sh.it

            How does this fight have to do anywhere near 400-500 k for it to be profitable

            Just some unwarranted negative press for Ward. The guys moving up and taking one of the biggest threats in the division and this writer has the nerve to be critical, f.ucking lame

            Wards at fault for getting a good paycheque

              Yeah the article has an agenda.... it needs to half of that to be a profit I think. It's not awards fault if it doesn't though.

              This is a matchup worth paying for, not Canelo vs Khan or Golovkin vs Brook/Lemieux.... or Joshua vs Molina.

                Doesn't quite make sense to me either. Mayweather opponents would get around 3 to 5 million alone IIRC, and he'd grab 25 to 32 million out of a 1 million buy PPV.
                How does this lose money if it does 1/3 of that in buys? Even if both guys pulled 5 mill it would still be a much smaller amount, proportionally.

                  More anti-Ward nonsense. Roc Nation wouldn't have done it (the guarantee) if it was going to make it so difficult to turn a profit on the fight. I don't understand the flack this guy gets.

                    This is why i wish more people will be into it, but if you notice only us hard core fans who really watch boxing are really into this fight. I hope this fight does great numbers, they both deserve the lime light win or lose just for the fact they are doing what most boxers arent even willing to consider let alone act on AND THATS PUT IT ALL ON THE LINE AGAINST SOMEONE WHOS ON YOUR LEVEL AND CAN BEAT JUST AS MUCH AS YOU CAN BEAT HIM.
