Manny bodybags him in the 5th fight. Jmm made manny into a better animal. Now he doesn't chase his man inside and instead blasts away from all angles so whereas he used to knock guys out cold now he straight batters them like he did to Tim and Vargas busting them up and knocking them down. Manny mercs this version of jmm and it's not even close the counter punching that jmm desperately needed is gone because manny now feints better than ever.

Ridiculous, trying to fight an actually retired middle-aged man
Manny's talking about "avenging" his indisputable KO loss vs. Marquez (JMM) in their 4th meeting is just ridiculous IMO for the following reasons:
1) Marquez is 43 years old and his last professional fight happened two and a half years ago. HIS AGE ALONE is reason enough for such a "fight" to be ridiculous. At this point any B minus fighter can defeat Marquez.
2) Manny and SOME of his fans (and I emphasize "some" because I am a fan of his but not exclusively, I am a fan of BOXING and I appreciate aggressive fighters like Manny way more than defensive ones) are still complaining about JMM's criminal KO punch as being some sort of a "hail Mary" deal, but they always hypocritically omit to mention that in the 3d round Marquez dropped Manny in a spectacular fashion, and that the "knock down" that JMM suffered in the 5th was a minimum thing because he barely touched the canvas with one glove. It was more a consequence of losing balance than a powerful punch hurting him, as it was the case with Manny the two times JMM dropped him in that fight.
3) Even in that fight, at 39 years old, JMM was showing very distinct signs of aging: his reflexes, hand speed and most specially his ability to avoid getting punched, were completely diminished, compared to the Marquez that fought Manny the year before. Clear signs that Marquez was over the hill at 39 y/o, no longer a contender in welter weight, are that he later on lost in a somewhat clear fashion vs. Bradley, something that would NEVER have happened, had these two fought when Marquez was at the top of his game. And then, later on, a B or B minus fighter such as Alvarado, dropped him. BTW, Marquez shown everybody, one more time, that his classic powerful right overhand was no "hail Mary" when he spectacularly dropped a much bigger and heavier Alvarado, from the center of the ring, throwing him almost out of the ring! Marquez has had lots and lots of other spectacular KO wins using that exact same punch or others from his big punch-arsenal, so the theory of that huge punch vs. Manny being a "hail Mary" or a "lucky punch" is just ridiculous. Marquez had been timing him. And he finally got his reward. NOBODY ELSE has KO'd Manny like that, leaving him unconscious on the canvas for several minutes, looking like he had been killed at a first glance. A masterful counter puncher, a top P4P fighter with dynamite in his fists, was the only one ever capable of doing it. And he did, finally.
If Manny thinks that defeating a semi-retired 43 year old ex-fighter, beatable by any top and semi-top welterweight fighter today means getting his revenge, well he could try and do that in an imaginary world where people never age and become obsolete, as JMM is right now.Last edited by sterilizer; 11-08-2016, 12:43 PM.
