Not really. Especially when canelo gave up his status as middleweight champion of the world.

If you actually want to fight good fighters, especially with that much money on the table, you bend a bit to try and make fights. Alvarez, Cotto, Sturm, Mundine, and a few others may end up spitting in your face, but there's hardly a fighter near Golovkin's size who isn't taking the fight for good money.

Golovkin's entire slate of opponents, so far, get washed by William Joppy, yet you want to talk mess?
The highlight of Joppys career is beating at 47 year old Duran at 160.

Stfu. Joppy would struggle with Murray and Macklin.

It used to be very common to attack Hopkins' middleweight career. The same sort of nonsense that there is now with Golovkin. Maybe the only difference right now is that a large part of the motivation against Golovkin is racially motivated.

Oscar and Tito fought their way up to MW, brook didn't. Tito tested his might against a then top 5 MW in William Joppy

Win or lose these guys went through names like David Reid, Felix Sturm(controversial or not), Fernando Vargas, Yory Boy, Joppy, Castilleja. Some good names to test you at the weight classes above.

Hop at MW is known for beating both and that's what catapulted him into the mainstream, however, he has names on his list besides them. Holmes, Robert Allen, Mercado, John David Jackson, Glenn Johnson and a loss to RJJR. Echols was a dangerous puncher, he has Pavlik under his belt, non title fight or not. The guy did pretty good MW considering he turned pro at 23 with no amateur experience. He wasn't a a two time Olympic medallist with the pedigree of ggg.

He had to succumb to demands from Oscar to get him known to the public. He didn't have an easy route whatsoever. He wasn't stubborn when it came to his two biggest fights.

You obviously don't have knowledge of the time period if you would even make that comment. It could be argued that Allen ran Hopkins out the ring in their first fight.

The era then, was just as bad as the era you guys claim it is now. Cut it out.

More foolishness. None of Golovkin's opponents would have been one of the 10 best middleweights most years in the 90s.

Um, Im by no means a Boxing expert. But why this obsession with moving up, down, etc.? Whatever your Natural weight class is, Fight in that class, Fight everyone in that class, and try to beat everyone in that class. Yes, people have moved up, and that's admirable, but by no means required. Fight in the division youre in. If a college football team plays in, Say, division 2, And Wins the championship, good, they beat everyone in THEIR division, that's all I ask. If a AA baseball team Wins in their division, Im not going to be upset that they didn't play any AAA teams. Im not upset that my local high school team cant beat a NFL team. U beat the best in the division in which u play. A welterweight should strive to be the best welterweight, a featherweight should be the best feather, a heavyweight should be the best heavy, a flyweight should be the best fly. Just be who u are.

The Allen from the first two Hopkins fights wipes his arse with Murray and Macklin. Macklin and Murray aren't better than Howard Eastman was.
