Ward will do everything he can (clutch, grab, clinch, clamp) to make it a boring fight.

hopefully the judges actually judge properly for once, and mark ward down for clinching. Ive said it before he sure as hell wouldnt get away with that **** if he fought abroad, which is why he wasnt interested in the slightest in fighting froch in nottingham, even though he would have made more money for that then his last 4 fights combined...

It depends on what you expect.

If you want Ward to just abandon all his skill and fight in a way that makes it easy for Kov to win then no the fight isn't going to live up to that expectation.

If you are a fan that enjoys a clash of styles then I think this fight will. Kov will be aggressive and Ward will use his skill and knowledge to counter that aggression.

The only people who will not enjoy this fight are the Freedoms and Red Cyclones that like Kov but deep down think Ward will win. They are going to be happy and satisified if Kov wins.

It will be boring af,but i will watch it cuse its on free tv in my country,dont expect to much Bigdramashow,just like ppl knew that Floyd will make Pac fight boring,i knew Pac had 0 chance,size,reach and style made Floyd 100%favorite,here Kova have more chance to mix it up for sure,But Kova like to box from distance,and its not mainstream fight so it wont hurt boxing.

i don't expect a barnburner. nobody who knows boxing expects that. if somebody gets hurt and a fight breaks out, great. if not we;ll be treated to a classic matchup of styles. the slightly smaller guy will have to try and outbox the slightly larger puncher. these guys are in their primes and on the p4p list. you can't ask for anything else.


this fight will go from good to freaking crazy if ward eats something big. if you want excitement that's what you hope for.

ward hardly held froch at all. did you weven watch that fight? be honest.

froch couldn't put a glove on him, or stay within arm's reach for more than one punch at a time. ward keeps his hands free when they're close. he doesn't want a break. he was by far the more effective guy in close. just watch the cklinches closely if you don't understand what ward is trying to do. he keeps his hands free and works. it's not squeaky clean, but it's boxing and it always has been. every fighter, europeans included, do it.


heck the most prolific holder of recent memory is a european. wladimir klitschko kept a firm clinch on the HW championship for 10 years.

hype? this fight is a big deal for hardcore fans. the common person has no idea who ward or kovalev is. i'm pretty sure nobody is expecting this to be a brawl. nobody is hyping this fight as the all-out-war to end all wars. this is andre ward, not mickey ward.

As boxing becomes more and more of a niche sport, every card that doesnt live up to the hype damages the sport further. Ward v kovalev is as good as it can get in the sport, and the eyes of the world will be upon boxing again once hbo and sky sports get the hype machine into place. It is my opinion that both the fighters have a duty to entertain, not just to try and win the fight. With mayweather v pacquiao, and canelo v cotto turning into dud fights, boxing needs this fight to deliver. Im hoping that this fight turns into a good old fashioned tear up, rather than a negative foul fest. What do people think? WIth the spotlight on the fight, do both fighters have a duty to entertain and have a proper scrap, or is it just about getting the win whatever the cost (fouling, negative tactics)? Do people think this will be a good fight to watch or is boxing about to get the final nail in the coffin?
