"I think that fight has sailed, that fight is never going to happen," said Ward to Sky Sports. "Once you go up in weight, I will never go down, you just don't do it."
Ward was a 19 year old LHW, who once flocked in at 190 for a SMW fight and hid his rehydration weight ever since. Everyone knew when Ward turned 30 he would no longer be able to drain down to SMW. Dan Rafael reported before the ggg over than Ward was struggling to make 168. Ward next fight was 172. He hasn't fought 168 since 2013. Although two of his three fights were dragging SMW north to 175. A year later the guy says he can hardily make 175. Like Canelo Ward has always drained down to overpower smaller guys. You look at the side by sides with Kov, Ward isn't smaller. Kov was 186 v Pascal at 175. Ward came in at 190 at SMW.
Canelo
Canelo has long been a legit MW sized fighter, and even after missing weight and fighting at MW he started to fight SWW at MW. He will be shorter than ggg, but heavier (weight classes doe) and have longer reach. He is still strictly aiming to fight smaller guys.
Golovkin
GGG has never been a big MW, rehydrating around the same size as SWW. Zurdo and Degale both get up to 190's at SMW. When ggg finally moves up, he'all be the only one of these three who step in with a serious weight disadvantage. GGG will at best be mud 170's while Zurdo will have a tremendous height and weight advantage. Degale too.
GGG should do this, but not u till he completes his goals at 160. He can break B-hops record and be one of few undisputed unified champs. If these cowards at 154-160 don't want to try to stop him, that's on them.
And MW has always depended on Sww and WW for big fights.
This is the unbelieveable thing I have ever seen. Everybody at middleweight or thinking about moving to middle are dyin g for GGG to get out of the division so they can have a chance at the titles without having to face him. Amazing. Nobody was telling hopkins to move up when he was trying to break the middleweight defence record against the likes of Trinidad and DLH who started their careers at much lower weight classes than him. The reason is because nobody feared hopkins. Just as nobody fears floyd and thats why people say, "well I fought floyd who was p4p #1 so why would people think im afraid of GGG?" Well the answer is simple. Because they can make money without taking a career changing and/or ending beating. People don't mind chasing gloyd around the ring and getting potshotted. What they don't want is somebody relentlessly stalking them around the ring and pounding the hell out them with that type of power. Let the guy break the record like he wants and unify all the titles like he wants. After he makes history, then he can move up. Oh and by the way, hopkins started his career at 175. GGG looks smaller than all his opponents at 160 exept for Brook. Theres no way he will be able to beat a mauler like ward who is admittedly having a hard time even making 175. Way too strong. If all things were equal, then you can make a case for that fight. But thats why we are getting Kovalev fight fight finally. It's almost same fight but in this case, ward will actually be fighting domebody his size.
Everyone would have to move up if they started fighting professionally at 15. Can you imagine how many classes people would go through if they started that early? So annoying having to see that regarding Alvarez as a reason to show he "moved up."
This is what I mean. GGG isn't asking Canelo to move up for him - Mother Nature has already moved him up!
Canelo needed to strip naked to make 154 last time out and has said he's going to be fighting at MW from now on.
When Golovkin answered Ellie Sechback's question if he could make 154 or 168, Im pretty sure with his 300+ plus amateur fights and professionalism knew he wasn't talking about Jenny Craig Q&A...
Golovkin was also coherent when said he would "absolutely" like to fight the winner of May vs Pac at 154, another direct question from Ellie Sechback. Oh yes of course then there's even "levels to this" when Abel talks. P4p no walk the walk, talk the talk
See, this is how you tell a troll from a genuine poster - different standards for different fighters.
GGG said he could make 154 or 168, and you're dogging him like a jilted, love-sick schoolgirl because he hasn't done either yet.
Andre Ward said he would - not could, would - win world titles at LHW, CW, and HW by the time he was 32.
You're not dogging Ward because he hasn't done what he said he would do.
Canelo Alvarez called GGG into the ring after he beat Khan and said that he would - not could, would - fight Golovkin next, at 160lbs.
You're not dogging Canelo because he didn't keep his word and fight GGG.

GGG should stick to 160 then and not take any chances that may result in a loss through fighting a competitive fight against an opponent with a pulse.
Whilst Ward fights for his legacy taking on the best the Golden Goose Gennady shouldn't risk it until he can cash out with his beautiful gold egg Cameltoč gifts him.
