Golovkin and his idiot team need to take what they can get. They are fighting an uphill battle with GB, PBC and just about every promotion wanting to wait out his reign, letting him his career fizzle into oblivion. Canelo is the biggest names around and will be for the forseeable future at 154-160. Bottom line if he wants to be the face of boxing, he must beat Canelo.
I'm afraid the truth of the matter is while Golovkin is a game cosumate professional in his performances that entertains and destroys, he is at heart a business man trying to squeeze every cent out of his career. The passion to be the best is merely a media facade and while he trains to be the best, his focus and drive to prioritize building his name at the expense of low ball deals is fiction

Still trying to save face for calling ggg in the ring. The guy is one of the most protected fighters and gets to fight guys tailored made for him. Besides lara which was a very close fight. The networks only get between 5 and 10 percent right off the top, which is a very far cry from half. Cable and satellite tv providers get close to half off the top but the networks themselves aka showtime and hbo make nowhere near that.
