    But Ward is a diva?!?!?
If he was facing better opponents, the money would have been there. I'm sure ggg would have made more money fighting someone other than monroe or wade...but let's praise guys for doing what it takes to get fights made against weak opposition.

Didn't he get like $2 mil to fight La Bomba? That's the figure I seem to remember, Rodriguez was due $500k but then signed with Haymon who managed to lever it up to a cool $mil which HBO ponied up so Dre wasn't left without an opponent, I could be wrong but can't be bothered checking now. $2 mil ain't bad for fighting La Bomba really, is it?

And Ward got $1367500 whilst the LHW champ Dawson got a mere $600K, again hardly sounds like Ward getting a raw deal.

        http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_...ad-dawson-size

Barrera got what? A touch under 25%? $1.85 to $450k. Yeah, Ward got screwed there.

        http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/3/26...barrera-450000

And Brand, well yeah, Ward dropped wayyy down from his customary $1.8ish mil to a mere $850K, but given the level of his opponent... well to mangle the original truism - you fight monkeys you get peanuts.

I'm not quite sure what you think Ward deserved in these fights - or indeed what Dre thinks he deserved - but to me it's not sounding like he was terribly hard done by.

Andre Ward dropped the ball after Carl Froch. Since then he's had five fights in as many years against mediocre opposition. Could have took on better opposition and squeezed three or four more fights into that period.

After a two-year grind to win Showtime’s Super Six tournament, newly unified WBA and WBC champion Andre Ward believes IBF titlist Lucian Bute needs to prove himself against 2-3 high-level opponents…

Priced himself out? More like made concessions in an effort to lure Froch back into the ring and even wanted to go to England. Froch retired instead.
The American super-middleweight Andre Ward has opened the door to a UK-based rematch with Carl Froch but is unwilling to travel to his rival’s home city of Nottingham

Kessler rematch was never even considered, that was just some Danish tabloid BS that you pushed out there.

If Ward had beaten Chad Dawson at 175 for the lineal title, that would have made a huge difference...

Which equals peicing himself out. Stating that Bute needed to prove himself was ridiculous particularly considering that Ward wanted to fight Sartison instead.

It was before that and I think you know it.

Well perhaps you dont know it considering how ******ed you post.

No. You are just uninformed as usual. It was even made public in courtpapers in one of Ward's many lawsuits against Goosen and one of the main reasons why Goosen wasn't found negligent in their promotional work.

Only the Rodriguez fight was a decent fight. The other fights were against poor quality fighters, some of whom were a weight class below Ward. Why should he be praised for taking less money to make safe easy mismatches for himself? It would have been better for his prestige to fight much better fighters for much better pay. Ward isn't scary. The worst he can usually do is give someone a boxing lesson and a ud loss. His last 3 fights could have and should have been against better opponents. He is making a bold move fighting Kovalev but that doesn't make those last three wins any better.
