I wouldnt go so far as to compare it to Universum lol, because that was ridiculously bad, but there is no denying that with Golovkins popularity these days, getting simple fights made shouldnt be this tough......

Either way it was an HBO influenced decision. If Kovalev goes off network and loses he could kiss away any thoughts of ever seeing an HBO contract. After the Adama fight, fans were left in great agitation at the prospect of a Golovkin fight having zero U.S. coverage from HBO and the execs vowed to make sure it didn't happen again. My guess is that they have some type of exclusivity clause or first match stipulation in the contracts of all of their main stays, and even if they don't they have a very heavy influence. I would be shocked to see Golovkin participate in a fight that isn't broadcasted on HBO,he's their greatest entity as it relates to the sport of boxing at the moment.

Your opinion posts are ******ed enough already. No need to make up stuff out of thin air.......
You're an imbecile, whether the highlighted portion happened or not it was implied by anyone with a brain, which you clearly don't seem to have. Main events couldn't win a bid with Haymon, so they conceded defeat *****.

I'm glad that we are in agreement, one punch "the imbecile" sort of has a nice ring to it.

Should have just went to bid and let the chips fall where they may. Loeffler got punked yet again.......
But that kills the fight. Wouldn't you rather see it go down? It's gonna be near impossible for Jacobs to pass if offered a ppv

That's where I am with this. I am hoping they work something out.

If Haymon's side wins the bif,Golovkin will be forced to vacate, because his contract stipulates that he must fight on HBO.
I think you're wrong on both. There's no threat of Haymon winning the bid, and if he did, he'd fight off Hbo. They just don't want Jacobs to vacate, they're never gonna have a better chance to get him in the ring
