Should have just went to bid and let the chips fall where they may. Loeffler got punked yet again.......
What do you think the reasons are for asking for an extension? Loeffler said they're close. If they're close it shouldn't take another two weeks. I think the pressure of a firm deadline would help the fight get made

They're acting like this is Floyd vs Pacquiao. There are provisions in place to get this made, purse bid.

I think that Loeffler fears the purse bid, because they can't predict how much Haymon is willing to bid. My guess is that he asked for an extension with the understanding that HBO will able to commit more money towards the fight should it take place during the new year. If Haymon's side wins the bif,Golovkin will be forced to vacate, because his contract stipulates that he must fight on HBO.

who knows, and frankly who cares? I'm so sick of Loeffler eating **** from everyone left and right and just smiling and swallowing it without so much as a burp. He should have said "look, our offer is 70-30 (or whatever), take it or we go to bid at 75-25 or you can vacate"

When even a simple mandatory defense cant get made without an extension, there is no denying the fact that Loeffler just isnt an effective negotiator. He may be a nice guy, but that whole "switzerland" routine is stale and doesnt work......

He really should step aside and let Oleg handle this stuff....

I'm not sure he has to fight on HBO in the event of losing a purse bid. Wouldn't make any sense not to have that out clause in your contract if your goal is to fight for all the belts. If that is the case then he has to over pay Danny to ensure the fight is on HBO

What happens to Loeffler's face if Haymon bids only 40 bucks?

I can only base my argument off of what we've seen happen in the past. Stevenson vs Kovalev goes to a purse bid, predictably Haymon's side wins the bid. This was followed by Kovalev withdrawing his name from the WBC rankings altogether and main events saying that their was a network conflict because of Kovalev's contract with HBO.

A common misconception is Kovalev HBO deal stopped that fight. Kovalev didn't have an HBO deal at the time. HBO had rights to first refusal of his next fight. Duva made the decision not to purse bid. HBO had nothing to do with that.

Loeffler has done a great job of marketing GGG and making him a household name amongst boxing fans. But in terms of fights he's no better off than he was when he was with Universum

this must have happened in a dream because that fight never went to bid, so im not sure how you think Haymon won a bid that never even happened in the first place.

Your opinion posts are ******ed enough already. No need to make up stuff out of thin air.......
