    What a terrible response.

    Is that all you've got?

    Seriously?

One of the biggest fights of all time, being negotiated a year out, without meeting up in person?

    Ha!

    Oh my.

    Come back from your fantasy.

The fight would obviously make many millions of dollars as seen with the Khan fight. Let's say it made 10 million which is a conservative figure. Canelo would be paying the guy 1%. Is that fair? Should the journeyman be paid more even if he works his ass off in the gym every day? Canelo gets 9.9 million while the other guy gets $100,000 is that fair?
Of course. There's obviously a leeway and I don't expect an exact number (if a guy brings in 33.33% of the fans and gate and viewers, 30-36.66% of the purse would be reasonable). I think I said it in this thread (or another thread) as an example. If GGG asked for 50/50, then I wouldn't blame Canelo if he doesn't agree to that.

I also lolled at the alt thing. I guess the dozens of guys that share the same opinion as me in this thread is my alt.

          An alt?

          It's a boxing forum.

Are we only allowed to post when in direct conversation?

Why the **** would anyone have an alt anyway?

I've never heard of anything as sad.

Canelo has plenty of fights he can make because he's young. But that doesn't mean they're going to be relevant fights that make huge money.

Again, GG has a real chance to fight Jacobs and BJS first. If those fights were to happen and GG were to win, it would take them out of the equation. There'd be no point in Canelo fighting them until some time down the line if they became relevant again.

You're going to be in for a huge shock if GG beats Jacobs and BJS. If that happens within the next 6-12 months, Canelo would have nowhere to go at MW. Yes, he could fight guys like Brook for a nice pay day, but then what? He's just had to strip naked to fight Smith. He'll soon be relinquishing his WBO belt. Have you got any idea of the pressure he'd be under to fight GG at MW, if he commits to the division and GG has all of the belts? Fans won't back him to fight other guys. I think you're also deluded if you think Oscar would let him face Saunders and Jacobs anytime soon.
Why wouldn't Canelo fight Jacobs, Saunders, or Eubank Jr just because GGG beat them?

How do you know who brings in what percentage of the fans? Would you have a survey? What about fans who just want to see a fight?

So wtf are you saying? Canelo made money off of ppv, Cotto made money off of ppv, Floyd made money off of ppv, and Khan made money off of ppv. Ain't no reading mistake out here. You keep saying that Canelo got ppv upside then Khan got upside and your argument doesn't make sense. Everyone made money off of ppv. Your trying to say Canelo made more than Cotto when he didn't.

Anybody who believes that Oscar offered a guaranteed $10 million+ to GGG for a fight next Sept, and GGG turned it down, is an imbecile!

Nobody makes offers like that in the sport of boxing. Who knows where both men will be in a years time? What if one, or both of them, gets beat badly before then?

Eg, if Golovkin gets KO'd by Jacobs and loses all his titles, is Oscar still going to pay him $10 million to fight Canelo next year?

If Canelo can't hack it at 160, and loses to Lemieux and Saunders, where would Oscar get the money to pay GGG $10 million to fight him after that?

Don't be so damned gullible! Oscar and Canelo are shook by the 250 PPV buys for his last fight and Oscar is trying to spin this to make it appear that GGG is the one who doesn't want to fight so he can get some credibility back for his cash cow - and you fools are falling for it!

THERE WAS NO CONTRACT SENT TO GGG, just a preliminary offer to start negotiations for a fight that may not even happen.

I'm saying ppv upside is standard, and here you are pushing for a flat fee for the biggest fight in boxing. That's totally wrong headed
