$10 million is peanuts if the fight is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, which Canelo team can never generate with any other fighter. Don't even mention Pac and Floyd. GGG would look ****** if he takes it.
The bold wishful thinking considering neither fighter is a real superstar, at least not in the United States. It's really a moot point anyway since I doubt Canelo's team is willing to risk their cash cow at this point.

GGG should have agreed to take the ten million and called Canelo's bluff. By taking away all of Canelo's excuses he could possibly create enough fan backlash to force the fight.

Wait, GGG got offered $10 million to fight ward at 168? OK, that's indefensible. No one would expect him to win, and he'd pocket 7 fights worth if money in a single night. ****** ass management.

By sept 2017 GGG won't be as good as he was against Brook and that wasn't even an A level performance. Time is on Canelo's side that is why his team isn't pursuing this fight. GGG's team is hard enough to negotiate with as is.

I hate to say it but GGG is probably going to be a shell of his former self 2 years from now tops if he hasn't retired by then. My advice to GGG is to pick that 10 mill right up and knock out Canelo then he can call the shots. He would be a superstar. He would be able to give Jacobs, Saunders, and Eubank Jr the money they want. Everyone from 154-168 would be calling GGG for a fight.
GGG being a good fighter is probably the reason the fight hasn't happened yet lol. A few years from now, he'll be a worse fighter (but probably would still be champ and probably hasn't lost yet) that Canelo would then be more eager to get in the ring with. Like you said, Canelo not pursuing the fight right now and probably pursues the fight in the future. By that point, they'll probably back off the $10 million stance so they can get in the ring with GGG when the time is right and claim the victory and brag about it.

I mean it's all a game GBP is trying to play right now. He knows GGG is a big threat now so you offer him much less and the fight doesn't happen right now. GGG gets a little older and the chances of you winning suddenly increase then that's when you get in the ring with him.

Canelo and GBP, like most prize fighters, have no problem giving up a few more million if it means securing a better chance at victory. And that's all they are basically doing.

Huh? He was offered 10m flat to fight Canelo in a year.

Who else can Canelo make $10m against? Just because this is GGG's only $10m+ opponent doesn't mean he should accept a less than favorable deal. He is part of why Canelo will make as much he does too.

But idk this whole scenario feels scripted. They seem to be tugging us back and forth to incite arguments between the fans and create pent up desire to see the match up. We're getting Mayweather-Pacquiao'd all over again.

Sure it's not a $100m+ fight, but Canelo's camp wouldn't offer $10m unless they had reason to believe that the fight is worth at least double that. They probably figure that the fight is worth much more than double that, which would make the % split unfavorable. Saying they'll pay $10m sounds like quite a deal unless they are figuring the fight to be >$40m in value in which case it's really not.

I might have read a post wrong. I thought the fight would've made him $10 mil. I don't get the point of this thread.

It's the same deal as Floyd's bogus 40m flat fee offer to Pac. It's good money but there's no telling how much you're leaving on the table. These megafights have a way of surpassing expectations by a lot. That's why there's ppv upside, it's standard for these or even lesser ppvs

Unless he fights outside the US or Mexico.
