I hate talking about money but anyone saying that is a fair offer seriously needs to go sit in on a business 101 class or something. He takes 10 million for this fight right...ain't nobody paying for a rematch is one or the other gets KTFO so what's left. Who gets Canelo a 30, 40, 50 million dollar payday? Who gets Golovkin a 20, 30, or even 40 million dollar payday? These are the realities people refuse to face, ain't no huge @ss paydays at 160 beyond this for either man, ain't no huge payday at 168, and damn sure ain't no big payday at 175 as it currently stands. Hell Kovalev and Ward might not see $12 million for their fight combined.
There's nobody else who can bring Canelo the kind of money he can make with GGG. It will be huge fight, if it happens, and GGG deserves a percentage of the money that his name, his world titles, and his reputation as an all action, crowd pleasing puncher generates.Comment

For all the ggg fans
Let's do Simple Math. Ggg will Stand to make $15-20 million after its all said and done. I'll make it easier for you. Against mayweather, Canelo made $5 million vs mayweathers $40 million. That means they made a combined $45 million which came out to Canelo 11% and mayweather 89% with Canelo bringing 2 JMW belts to the table. This fight also sold 2.1 million ppv's which was the highest sold ppv at the time. Next example: Canelo vs cotto- Canelo made $5 million vs cottos $15 million for a combined $20 million. Do the math. Canelo made 25% and cotto 75%. Are you still with me? Present day Canelo vs ggg. Ggg will make $15-$20 million vs Canelos $30-$40 million. This is all depends on how good the ppv sells. Let's do the math. Let's go low end (ggg) vs high end (canelo). If Canelo makes $40 million and ggg makes $15 million that's a combined total of $55 million. Ggg makes 27% and Canelo makes 73 %. Now let's look at GGG's high end vs Canelos low end. If ggg makes $20 million and Canelo makes $30 million that's a combined $50 million. Ggg gets 40% and Canelo gets 60%. Still following?! Now let's look at both fighters high end. If ggg gets $20 million and Canelo gets $40 million that's $60 million. Ggg gets 33% and Canelo gets 67%. This is as simple as I can explain it so you and every ggg fan can understand. 8 figures does not mean 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,or 9 million. It means a guaranteed at least $10 million right of the back plus a ppv percentage. Canelo took a guaranteed $5 million for cotto and mayweather. He's offering ggg at least double that for a fight that's not guaranteed to sell 2 million ppv's
- what upside percentage GBP offered? what if it's ****ty
- the offer from GBP was also no co-promotion with K2, i.e. all tickets sales, and other extra-revenues go to GBP. If I'm not mistaken, in all scenarios above where Canelo took short money they still were co-promoters of the events.
There are a lot of different things people don't see, but there was a video from Eddie Hearn a couple months ago about promotions business model, pretty interesting stuff. If somebody can find it, pls post.Comment

By Sept 2017 GGG could be boxing's only unified, undisputed, 4 belt world champion and a bigger star than Mr 250k.

You are right Canelo is a very popular man, a heralded and Mexican gem to sports. Guess what he's not the first and if history is any indication the moment he looks vulnerable it'll be on to the next one.Comment

Flat fee is a no go buddy, if you knew how business is done, you'd understand.
Give the man a % of the PPV earnings, I'd say about 40% (35%) with a nice fee an we're talking, this is the man you handed a belt to in other to avoid fighting him and now you wanna suck him dry in the cash department, no way jose
If Golovkin was willing to treat Jacobs like the Queen of England, as you expect Canelo to treat Golovkin..... then he could finally treat us to a meaningful fight.Comment

Why do you think Canelo kept hold of the WBC belt after beating Cotto, and promised to fight GGG next if he was allowed to keep hold of it again for a voluntary defence against Khan?
Trying to keep hold of that belt without defending it against his mando is the reason why Canelo is a disgraced fighter now and has lost so many of his Mexican fans.
900k PPV buys against Cotto.
500K against Khan, who was a terrible opponent.
250k against Smith, on Mexican Independance Day.
Do the math. Canelo needs to fight GGG. He obviously doesn't want to, but he needs to.Comment
