At a 5:1 share of the money? Top Rank can go take Pacquiao's name and go **** themselves.
Danny Garcia has already done $1m gates at Barclays Center, while also doing good business at Staples Center against Robert Guerrero.
Garcia is all of 28 years old, has a resume of good fights under his belt, and is well on his way to maxing out his drawing ability.
Pacquiao got KTFO by JMM, before getting washed by Floyd Mayweather in the biggest spectacle that boxing is likely to see for some time, yet Garcia is supposed to give up 4-5fold on his own purse to add that "name"?
For $10m to Pacquiao/$4m to Garcia, with about that share on any upside on the event, chase the name. Beyond that, build your own legacy (Thurman fight, a possible Berto shootout, an eventual fight with Errol Spence Jr, maybe a move up to 154lbs at some point, etc).Comment

Broner got the promoter's share for his two fights in Cincinatti, in addition to his sellout fight in Washington DC; if you honestly think that all Broner got was his disclosed purse, you're setting yourself up for failure.
Broner's not just any other Pacquiao opponent; Broner is going to push a ton of tickets for MGM Resorts, Broner's going to push for a ton of attention on social media, and Broner is going to make the promotional material for the event actually worth tuning in/talking about.
Regardless of what the actual fight ends up looking like, Broner's public profile is such that Pacquiao-Broner is likely to do at least double/triple the business that Pacquiao versus anyone available to Top Rank currently does.
There's a value to pay for delivering a fight worth that much more than what Pacquiao can still deliver on his own (a situation made even more acute with HBO washing their hands of the man)Comment
