Broner's not just any other Pacquiao opponent; Broner is going to push a ton of tickets for MGM Resorts, Broner's going to push for a ton of attention on social media, and Broner is going to make the promotional material for the event actually worth tuning in/talking about.

Regardless of what the actual fight ends up looking like, Broner's public profile is such that Pacquiao-Broner is likely to do at least double/triple the business that Pacquiao versus anyone available to Top Rank currently does.

There's a value to pay for delivering a fight worth that much more than what Pacquiao can still deliver on his own (a situation made even more acute with HBO washing their hands of the man)
broner was offer around $4mil for manny. you think thats all he's gonna get at the end? LOL. he's getting $4mil which could double or triple when its all said and done. but this is peanuts to you LOL.

-Pacquiao-Vargas is being held at UNLV's basketball arena off of The Strip; Pacquiao-Broner would've likely been showcased by MGM Resorts (whether they go with T-Mobile Arena or MGM Grand/Mandalay Bay is beyond me).

-Pacquiao-Vargas is being distributed by Top Rank directly, picking off any attention they can, by any means necessary; Pacquiao-Broner would've been easily distributed by HBO, likely with the added plus of 2-3 promo materials used to push the fight even further (with Max Kellerman doing his part to talk things up on ESPN).

-Jessie Vargas, with less than three weeks to go to the fight, has done near no press for this fight (not even any real self press from what I can tell); Adrien Broner, from the moment he would've gone into fight camp, would've talked the **** out of this fight, anywhere and everywhere.

and that's without even trying all that hard. Pacquiao-Vargas, all money in, likely doesn't even do $20m in total revenue; Pacquiao-Broner, easily does double that.

and thats why broner was offer around $4mil more than his highest purse which was $1.75mil. after its all been said and done that $4mil could go up to $6-8mil.

marquez only made $5mil for pac and marquez brings in more than anything broner will be able too. stop crying brother.

Mayweather is a mile greedier than Pacquiao/Arum combined. Bradley made more than $10 mil in his first and second fight with Pac. Maidana made $5 mil.

Showtime didn't even make money out of the Mayweather contract, which was evident by the fact that they hardly produced any fight for the rest of that superfight year. They lost subscribers. The TBE guy is just too greedy to share his loot. I mean we're talking about a boring, running, clinching, IV'ing guy who essentially ripped off fans.

I don't know the story for every fighter, so slamming fighters without knowing much sets things up to get embarrassed; as an example, Omar Figueroa Jr, feeling his body starting to fall apart and being okay with his money, personally (seemingly against the advice of his own father) chose to give his body a break, using his time to dabble in other ventures that he had interest in (namely, looking to build a local boxing promotion company to focus on getting folks fights in his home market).

Activity is great, but fighters set their own paces, which is alright by me; Deontay Wilder would've had three fights in 2016 were Povetkin not come up dirty and Wilder getting hurt in the replacement fight, Stevenson-Alvarez has already been penciled in and a fight against the winner of Kovalev-Ward (i think Ward wins) is still possible for 2017, Jack-Degale is being ironed out for this year with interesting fights being in the works for 2017, Daniel Jacobs is being positioned for the Golovkin fight (after seeing fights against Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunder falling through, he did have to settle for the Mora rematch as a tick-over fight), the positioning of folks at 154/147 is finally leading to fights lining up, etc.

The fights are coming together, so I've got nothing to really trip about (PBC put on 50 fight cards in Yr 1, and are seemingly on pace to again put on 50 shows in Yr 2 [driven by a better placing of the shows Nov/Dec and into early 2017]).

Now, ranting about HBO, where young talented fighters like Terrence Crawford and Vasyl Lomachenko are being held out of fights by actions/decisions that have nothing to do with the intentions of their camps, would be an interesting story.

Floyd made the money he made, because that was what it was; when Floyd stepped in with folks who brought value to the table (Hatton,Cotto, Alvarez, Pacquiao), that value was noted in how those negotiations went.

To continue to argue that Danny Garcia (or Keith Thurman) is basically only worth the same show-up money that was offered to Brandon Rios or Chris Algieri or Timothy Bradley is laughable.

Broner sold out the DC Armory, compared to Golden Boy barely being able to fill half the building, an event, mind you, that Bronr was the promoter for. You add in the fight purse, plus what he got on the tickets, plus whatever other revenues he was entitled to as a promoter, and the money adds up fast.

No one is saying that $4m is "peanuts"; the simple fact of the matter is that Broner's contribution to a Pacquiao-Broner event is worth well more than $4m.

It's no different from right wing elements in most advanced countries blaming immigrants for everything that ails their societies. Or some quote in the bible: Matthew 7:4 - How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' while there is still a beam in your own eye?

With Pacquiao getting $20m and Broner getting $4m, the upside on the event is nowhere near as lavish as you want to talk up, especially with the impression that the upside is likely split how the guarantees are. (5:1).

Pacquiao-Broner isn't Mayweather-Pacquiao, Mayweather-Alvarez, or ODLH-Mayweather; heck, it's likely not even near Mayweather-Cotto ($98m on PPV, with $12m coming from the live gate).

You add that Arum is clearly going to take a significant piece of whatever the event ends up doing for himself and talks of Broner tripling his $4m is foolish.

$50m as final proceeds on the fight, $20m to Pacquiao, $4m to Broner, Arum takes his own share, and Pacquiao/Broner split the rest 5:1 and, at it's best, Broner maybe gets to $7m while Pacquiao walks away with $35m.

Rather than get shafted on the money, Broner keeps plugging along, taking the lion's share off of his own events.

LOL!! i think we're done here.

like i said, danny, broner can turn down $4mil and continue to make their usual $1-2mil per fight.
