The biggest difference between UFC and boxing besides the obvious is that boxing is ran more like a business where everything needs to make dollars now or at some future date while the UFC is ran more like a sport where fans are more highly considered and profit is assumed if they can make the fans entertained with competitive fights.

I am getting quite fed up with boxing. I buy most of the big ppv's but enough is enough already. As fans of boxing we don't deserve this **** anymore. meanwhile in the UFC the top guys are constantly fighting top guys and you never quite know who will win.

Thank god for Kovalev and Ward, and Lomochenko Walters otherwise this year will go down as crap. We should be getting fights like Canelo GGG, GGG jacobs, Pacquiao Crawford, Pacquiao vs Vargas etc instead we get Canelo vs Khan, smith GGG vs Brook and other crap mismatches. Like step the **** up already because boxing is becoming an embarrassing circus that I am getting frustrated being a part of already. Seems liek 9 out of 10 top fighters are constantly cherry picking and ducking. The next big UFC even is in my hometown NY and the card is stacked from top to bottom with ridiculous fights. Whens the last time boxing had a stacked card? Boxing hardly gives us a top dog vs top dog main event let alone a stacked card with top fighters.

Sorry I just had to vent as I read about GGG not fighting on Dec 10 and Jacobs trainer saying Jacobs needs 12 weeks to train for GGG. GROW SOME ****ING BALLS already this is the fight game not table tennis.
what youve said is entirely correct. And your post will (and has) upset a lot of the boxing hipsters on here. They get very touchy when anyone insults the noble art of boxing. But come on, lets be objective, the sport is a ****ing shambles at the moment. There should be good fights in the welterweight division pretty much monthly with the amount of good fighters but no, it doesnt happen. Not going to go on a rant about the sport cause i could write an essay but its easy for you lot to bury your head in the sands and make out that everythings fine with boxing when it isnt. Can ***** and moan about mcgregor diaz being 'unrefined' or a fight for 'casuals' but people got their moneys worth with that. They trash talked and backed it up. IM not really a huge fan of mma cause i find the grappling boring, but that was a **** load more entertaining than mayweather v pacquiao, crawford v postol etc. And as the OP says, the big difference is that UFC cards are stacked. THe divas of boxing should put their inflated egos to one side and fight on undercards, dont see why they dont want the exposure to be honest. And what i like about the UFC is that undefeated record doesnt mean ****. And you arent thrown on the trashheap if you lose, they regroup and work their way back up. Dont know why you are all so touchy when people make a comment about UFC running things well, all get defensive about fighters purses etc, is sad really, should be more focused on entertainment rather than defending boxing by talking about purses lol. Are you fans or accountants ffs lol

All you UFC fanboys are just coming with opinions!

FACT: The UFC's highest selling gate ever is 55,000+ in 2011. Canelo just sold 52,000 plus fighting Liam Smith.

Explain to me how boxing is losing fans? We'll give you the 3000 difference. Lets say all of them came from boxing.

Boxing isn't losing any fans. The big boxing fights still outdo UFC by quite a large margin and will continue to do so. Since UFC has so many allies in the media and what not, mainly leftists who think Rousey is a feminist icon, its widely thought to be taking out boxing, which is pure nonsense. I guarantee someone like Joshua will be blowing away McGregor numbers within a year..

That's what I don't get myself. I'm not even a huge MMA fan, but I watch the reruns on tv, which are free. Most times I catch promotional events and they clearly spend huge money on them. As opposed to boxing where you rarely see promotions get covered in the mainstream media.

Boxing is in a transition period. Happens every decade or so and with the end of the Mayweather/Manny era, we're bound to have some lag. But really, a boxing fan will remain a boxing fan. More important, a boxing fan isn't comparing it to UFC because...they don't care.

Bruh, he may already be there. He brought out 20,000+ for the fight with Breazeale. That's a good night for the UFC. Joshua is still a prospect, technically speaking....

im anything but a UFC fanboy lol. ANd youve completely ignored my point, didnt say ufc is more popular. Am saying theres a hell of a lot boxing could learn from it. And its popularity is seriously shooting up in UK, mcgregor v diaz had just as much hype as any boxing match from this year.

The top boxers draw more fans than the top UFC guys. The top boxers make more than the top UFC guys. What can can the UFC teach boxing?
